The Burning

The Burning

She was gone. The weeks after The Burning are a blur. I wandered the ruins of Seattle, the sky perpetually covered in a blanket of ash, the fires never fully extinguished. The air was thick, toxic in some places. People died from simple things—smoke inhalation, dehydration, infection. The world had turned into a graveyard, and I was just another ghost haunting the ashes. I don’t know how I survived. Maybe because I didn’t care if I did.

Alpha's caged love

Alpha's caged love

The pyre, meticulously constructed, awaited its sombre purpose, with the shrouded bodies of the fallen resting upon it. The oldest member of the pack stepped forward, invoking a solemn blessing and beseeching the Moon Goddess to embrace the spirits of their departed comrades. As the pyre was ignited, flames leapt into the night sky, their fiery tongues reaching twenty feet high. Selena's gaze shifted upward, catching a shooting star traversing beneath the moon's watchful eye. It felt like an auspicious sign. The pack remained in silent vigil until the fire had consumed everything, leaving only ashes behind. Selena and Cayden, connected by hand amid their mourning, eventually withdrew from th

My Fireheart

My Fireheart

Sky smiles at Lucifron, and about to take her last breath, she closes her eyes. A shrill scream echoes throughout the oasis and the phoenix lands on the woman. Thick tears fall from the bird's eyes, and her entire body turns into flames, so bright that it makes everyone look away. When the light disappeared, on the woman's chest was a pile of ashes, and in the middle of the ashes was a large golden egg.

Rejected Luna's Vengeance

Rejected Luna's Vengeance

She sobbed; not minding the snot and tears dripping down her face as she imagined the scenarios of how her people suffered until their bitter end. The sea of Nirvana Flames vanished. What followed was a sight that no one could forget. Hundreds of fireflies appeared from the surrounding forest and they circled around the corpses. They landed on each body part, illuminating the dead before the fireflies collectively flew slowly to the sky. In a sea of fireflies ascending to the moonlit sheen, Diana bowing her head onto the pavement was seen by every member of the Alliance far behind her.

we watched a couple of episodes of Naruto before passing out. ====================== “According to reports from reporters on the scene the CFD continues to try to contain the fire. A five-alarm fire at a warehouse on Noble Street. According to witnesses and reporters, two firefighters are injured from Station 19. They are being transported to the nearest hospital for treatment” I look up in shock when I hear the news I look up at the screen. That’s our station. I’m sure Beck was at that fire. I clench my fists. I know I can’t call anyone now, not when they’re busy at a fire. Even if I do call no one would answer.

Claudius, a Delta's fight for Love

Claudius, a Delta's fight for Love

" Hughes said through his tears, then kissed his father's casket. Hughes cracked the casket open and slipped the little wooden wolf's head into the casket and closed it. He placed a single rose on top of the casket, before turning and walking away. As Hughes walked away, the men lowered Benjamin into the ground. Hughes held his mate's hands as he walked to each pyre, and said a blessing. He held his mate's hands as he left the sacred field, and walked past the field of enemies. It's the field where they burn all the dead bodies of those who died on their property and didn't deserve a sacred cremation. As Hughes looked toward the pile of burning dead bodies, his eyes landed on Jeremy, who was

I absolutely loved this book. Each character pulls you in and you feel invested in their story. You see how they grow and develop as the story progresses. It’s tough to see them suffer at the beginning but the ending more than makes up for it.

Fire and Flame

Fire and Flame

The reason for their call that morning was for him to come pick her up at the airport when she must have landed safely. She wasn’t as lucky as Bruno in finding a suitable seat partner when embarking on a journey. Bruno met her through that way and still met Silvia through that same way. Oh! Silvia, the girl Bruno met the day he boarded the flight back to Texas. She was inside there all alone with no suitable person to talk to and she didn’t even feel like she was bored. She had her phone to see movies and play games which see did and occupied her mind and time. That flight took longer according to her expression, maybe because she had a company the last time and wasn’t lucky that day. Someth

so long as my death came after I’d achieved my goals. Highgate was truly beautiful this time of year, its frosted trees and shrubbery intermingling with the snowy graves. Foxes crept among the tombstones. Spiders wove glistening webs. Angel statues cried ice tears. Loretta and I wandered it aimlessly until we reached a section devoted to immortals. The graves here were all from the past year or two. Loretta stopped before one. “I knew him,” she said. The grave belonged to Billy Portbelly, a “devoted husband” who had perished a few months before.

They didn't reply, they just kept on chanting, the fireflies had their lights blinking off and on, they were losing their strength, one fell from the circle, its light was completely low, others filled the space, their lights were reducing too, they were weak, Why would they sacrifice their lives to save me? "Stop!!" I scream when another one falls. "El, whisan, El, Whisan, El, Whisan, we possess this soul today." their voice and chants increases, goosebumps grow on my skin, all the remaining fireflies fall miserably on the ground, they came closer I tried going back, one of them got to me first. The Charismatic Charlie Wade

The other party was also in despair, and he blurted out, “There was a fire, and the Matsumoto family mansion was suddenly lit up in flames tonight. After the firefighters extinguished the fire, they realized that everyone in the Matsumoto family mansion was all lying neatly in the living room, and all of them had already been burned beyond recognition. They were clearly killed before the Matsumoto family mansion was set on fire. The scene of the death was so tragic that many of the firefighters ended up vomiting and getting sent to the hospital!” As soon as he heard this, the Superintendent General of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department felt his blood pressure surging. He muttered, “I…
