It wasn't until the next day that we saw news about Kai and Lex again. By then, Rachel and I had already slipped away to another island. We were lounging in our villa, sipping wine and wearing face masks as we scrolled through the headlines. On-screen, Lex looked grim, while Kai's eyes were visibly red. The two sat side by side in a car. A reporter, speaking into the camera, delivered the latest update.

He then quickly snapped and promptly followed him at the same pace. They hurried towards the exit. They were already meters away from the supermarket, and as they were both running, Eurus glanced back, to see a ghoul exiting from the supermarket, looking left and right. It suddenly jerked its head in their direction and started sprinting towards them. "Shit!" Eurus said with his voice stirred up with fear. His eyes went back to focus in front of him. He then started running as fast as he could. "Don't look back now, squiggy," said Luke. He was just beside Eurus, running with the same speed as him.

I’m too busy thinking about how I’m going to get from the bed and downstairs without breaking my neck. Mack’s suggestion to take me to the garden tempts me for a moment. Not because I’ll be getting fresh air, but because it would make escape easier if I was already outside. But then I catch sight of my gray duffel bag in the corner of the bedroom and I realize I can’t leave here without it. So, I have to make my escape from the bedroom. I can’t leave my clothes and all my cash behind because it’s all I have. It’s only mid-afternoon when my stomach grumbles and the urge to use the bathroom sneaks up on me that I realize I’m being stupid.

She went to the book case and pulled out a book that had a rose patterned spine with no author and heard something click at the far end. She decided to check out the source of the noise...When she reached the far end of the huge book case she found nothing and when she turned around she saw a dim light seeping through the fire place. Apart from the gnawing gut feeling not go inside, her curiosity got the better of her. She pushed the door open went inside , thought of turning around and going home ,but the door shut immediately making her wish she hadn't gone inside. Don Great’s men were entering the forest. Inside the first SUV, Sky sat quietly beside Don Great. Rainwater rolled down the windows. “One of the scouts confirmed movement near the old house,” Sky said calmly. Don Great looked ahead silently. “They escaped through the back path.” A dangerous smile appeared briefly on Don Great’s face. “Good,” he said softly. Sky glanced at him. “You wanted them to run?” Don Great rested his arm against the door. “Fear reveals people’s true nature.” The SUV continued moving through the muddy road.

Then, the lead dancer quietly asked me who he was. I shook my head and calmly replied, "A stranger." Francis' security team and the venue's guards rushed onto the stage to drag Nick away. After his microphone was snatched back, he yelled, "I've got rid of Sherry and that child. Do you believe I'm sincere now?" He continued, "If I can't have you, I'd rather kill myself!"
