He extended the couch near the TV, tossing down throw pillows and setting up a spread that made me blink, popcorn, chocolates, chips, drinks, even warm cookies.
“I didn’t know what you’d feel like eating,” he said simply.
He turned on the TV, lowering the volume, the flickering light from the screen washing over his face. Then, without a word, he disappeared for a moment, and returned holding a steaming towel.
“Lie back,” he said softly.
I did, I'm the pillows, half sitting.
