The Hero Is Overpowered But Overly Cautious Novels & Stories

When I finished, he nodded slowly. “You made the right call,” he said. Relief hit me so hard my knees almost gave out. “I won’t fail you,” I said. His eyes softened just a little. “I know,” he replied. Not everyone liked my caution. Some wanted blood, others wanted revenge. “We should strike first,” a warrior argued during a meeting. “Show them we’re still strong.” “We are strong,” I replied calmly. “That’s why we don’t rush.” “Caution looks like weakness,” he snapped.

“I'm fine with it, so I don't think there should be any problem.” Hero's jaw clenched, a flicker of frustration in his eyes. I felt a surge of power, a small victory. I held the upper hand, the situation firmly under my control. But I wasn't foolish enough to underestimate the danger. Even if he hadn't offered to join me, I would never have considered entering that building alone. A stranger, no matter how charming or persuasive, was still a stranger. It was a risky gamble, and one I wasn’t willing to take.

It was the first time he had encountered a battle where they were at a disadvantage in terms of the number of people. Nevertheless, it was mainly because of Fane. Fane’s combat ability was overly powerful, at the same time, frightening. Although he had not met any of the ultimate god-level fighters and certainly did not know how powerful they were, he thought that Fane’s current combat prowess was, perhaps, already at the ultimate god level.

"Besides, he died because of his weak condition. I wasn't responsible for his excessive bleeding. As for Finn scratching him… Well… He's just a child. He doesn't know any better. He thought that he was just playing around with Connor." Andrew pointed at his surroundings before pointing at Diana's clothes. "All of these are fake. You're the one who supervised the decorations, right? Stop fooling around, honey. I've learned my lesson. I truly have. "You can take me home now. This place is so scary. The people here are terrifying too. I'm begging you, Diana. Please take me home for Finn's sake! I promise to behave from now on. I'll never make the same mistake ever again!" Andrew cried as tears

He would become too weak to gather any courage to fight against him. He thought Christopher would never be able to get out of his grip with the guilt he has inflicted on him. But that's where he went wrong. He doesn't know that I am here with Christopher and I am not going to let him win so easily. Back when he came to threaten me, I had noticed in his eyes how much he underestimated me. He thought I was too naïve. He assumed that his terrorizing tone was enough to get me out of Christopher's life. But he isn't aware that's where I get the advantage. He is too overconfident, and that's the thing that would lead him towards his downfall.

I turn to him and he shrugs, “You just didn’t have the look, but they were going to throw you into combat without a second thought or the proper training. I just brought you some time to prepare yourself.” “So, you are like my savior,” I say with a roll of my eyes. “If you want to put it like that, sure. I’m more interested in why you are hesitant, it’s like you are scared of stepping out of your bubble.” I roll my eyes, “Let me guess, you are very observant when it comes to people,” he smiles in response. “That, and you have your emotions written all over your face. That is another weakness, you are going to give the enemy everything he needs without lifting a finger,” he tells me.

‘If any of my former enemies witness this and sees the mighty God of War behaving in such a wimpy manner, what would others feel? ‘Even heroes have a weakness for the charm of a beautiful woman!’

“Welcome to the game. You’re not God. You’re not even middle management. You’re one traumatized writer with a glitch in the code. You can’t fix everything.” His bluntness scraped, but it also gave me something to push against. “Trying to be everyone’s hero gets you killed faster here,” he went on. “I’ve seen it. I almost did it myself on that tower. You pulled me out. I’m not saying that because I owe you some kind of ‘permission’ to feel bad. I’m saying—if you die playing savior, this place * wins *” I sucked in a shaky breath. It didn’t wash the guilt away.

The aura covering him shone brighter, for the very first time since I knew him, Hope made me doubt victory. "Hero Time is a technique that boosts the user's abilities tenfold for a few minutes, so at that moment, I'm the most powerful in the whole village!" "But... It doesn't make sense, Hero time is a technique accessible only to the advanced Hero class, you shouldn't be able to use it, it's impossible, you're impossible!" He smiled, delighted with my astonishment. "It's true, a normal Hero wouldn't make it, but what about a transcendental Hero?"

I frown. “Why?” Her hands tremble. “Because he’s dangerous.” I glance back at the drawing. Then at her. Confused. “Isn’t he a hero?” Something in her expression breaks completely. “No.” The word is sharp. Immediate. Final. “He’s not a hero,” she says again, softer, but more terrifying. I don’t understand. “He’s strong,” I argue. “Strength isn’t everything,” she whispers. I open my mouth to ask another question—but a sharp scream cuts through the air.
