DANTE'S POV People call me the Devil of New York. They're not wrong. I've killed men for less than a dirty look. I've gutted rats who thought they could steal from me. I've fucked women who begged for mercy and made them beg for more pain instead. My empire runs on blood, loyalty, and fear. That's the only language this rotten world understands. And tonight, I reminded everyone of it. Crawford thought he could play me. Thought he could borrow money from my syndicate, promise returns, and then ghost like I'm some dumb fuck banker. No. You don't spit in my face and walk away.

He looks murderous "It was you. Wasn't it?" "Me? What did I do?" "You killed Papa" "Oh, that? It wasn't personal. I was only settling old debts" "Have you lost your mind? The hallway opened into what looked like a bar and the devil himself sat there like he had been there the entire time, like the house had simply decided to reveal him when I got close enough. Dark shirt. Sleeves rolled to his elbows. Hair damp and sli

A manly figure slides inside and slowly shut the door behind his back. He took predatory steps towards my frame. My body trembled under each approaching steps. He came closer and crouched down at my level blocking the sunlight. I peered at him. His face is stoic and void of any emotion. Yet I get the glimpse of the devil incarnate within him. He studied my face with a hard gaze as his thumb traced my bottom lip. The touch of his hand made my head flinch back. My eyes caught his hardened expression and a shiver passed through my spine. My breathing escalated with fear and trepidation.

I interjected sharply before she could even finish what she was saying. "He is not who you think he is!" I lowered my voice so our conversation does not reach prying ears. "Mom, what I am about to tell you is very serious, please do not think that I am insane or suffering from hallucinations, I know what I saw. The Devil is not a man, he is not a human being, he is something else, he is not from this world, you have to get us out of this house, out of this god forsaken country, mom!" Mom did not appear to be the slightest bit shocked, after all the crazy things I said, she was indifferent. I didn't understand it.

Audrey asked, curious to know more. "The devil doesn't bargains, and as possessive and envious as he is, he wasn't willing to just walk away just because God said so" he said, "because he had most of the humans on his side 'cause they where his after all from selling their souls, he formed minions to rebel against God's orders"
