I stood up, getting nearer to the book spot but not touching it. I read the text in the book. "You're Locked." it says. I don't know if I should roll my eyes to it's obviousness but yeah, I am locked here undeniably sticker and I knew it already. The book turn to another page again and stops. " And you're looking for something to solve so you can get out of here." My knees are shaking and my eyes widened. How did it know I'm thinking it? It turns to other pages again which seems like it's answering my thoughts and it's terrifying.

“Hey, if you're not busy, could you um… help me with something?” Norma looked up and smiled, “I'm so rarely busy here. What is on your mind?” “Well… um… I'm thinking about writing a book.” “Oh, that's wonderful! I always knew you were the sort of girl who would not be content with living in other people's worlds forever.” “Yeah, well… I have this idea, but I'm sort of stuck.” “Oh? Well, I'll help you if I can. I always wanted to write a book myself, but I guess everyone says that.” Norma's eyes unfocused behind her glasses, gaze temporarily moving from this world to whatever one compelled her, wanting to express herself with the written word.

I guess my month here will be purely about writing this book.’ ‘Title? Let’s see.’ ‘I got it!’ I flipped open the laptop that she provided me and looked for the MS Word application. My fingers caressed the laptop keys in preparation and pressed the letters SEX IS YOU.

Until i suddenly pulled away as someone dashed past my mind and she almost leaned forward, a soft chuckle and escaping her lips as she stared at me. "What's that?" "I just got an idea" I whispered in response and her eyes went dim with seriousness as i stood from the chair eagerly. "How about i write a book?" "I write a book about everything. About me and growing up chinese in America. It might be like fresh off the boat but with everything. I'm just gonna write, wherever my pen takes me" "It could be a memoir" Excitement lit in my eyes as i raised my palms to my chest. "Do you know what this means?" "Do you?"

What started as an idea became something so much bigger because of you. Writing this book breathed life into my lungs in ways I can’t even explain. After so many debates with my editor and so many passionate discussions with you all, I’ve finally made the decision. Book 3 of SIR will follow Lucia.
