We both stumble, glass crunching underfoot, the table collapsing completely as we crash to the floor together.
He’s on me in a blink, fangs flashing as his palm clamps my jaw, forcing my eyes toward his. I thrash, knowing what he’s trying to do, refusing to let my mind be stripped bare. His compulsion is a suffocating weight pressing in. My bones scream, my body is breaking, but I hold on with sheer hate.
“You’re just like me,” he hisses again, the words dripping into my skull.
“No…” My fist pistons upward, catching his already broken jaw. It snaps sideways again, bone crunching louder than before. “I’ll never be you.”
