“Adela? Please, follow me.” Adela nodded, following the woman through the building. She felt out of place among the suited professionals and modern decor, but she kept her head high. Inside the conference room, Liam sat at the head of the table, surrounded by a panel of interviewers. Adela was surprised to see him there. Wasn’t this just for an assistant position? Why would the CEO himself attend? The interview began, and Adela answered each question as honestly and confidently as she could, even though she knew her qualifications were lacking. She was aware of her disadvantage compared to others who might apply for the role, but she couldn’t afford to give up.

He glared at her as she stepped into the room, followed by lecherous Darius who stood by the wall, gazing at her like he wondered what she was about to do. Strangest. Interview. Ever. Half rising out of his chair, the blonde motioned for her to sit opposite him and when she did, he sat back down. Her name had already been called. CLICK! She opened the door to a room that felt cold and slightly eerie. Tense, to be precise. Alice saw about five people sitting in front of a fairly long table. Maybe it was like they were going to judge her during her thesis. Alice swallowed her own saliva. "Please sit down, Alice," said a handsome man who captivated Alice. With quite a bit of nervousness, Alice sat in the chair that had been provided. The conversation for this interview was quite long, lasting about half an hour. Many questions were asked to Alice, starting from her knowledge in the field of accounting and so on. Alice could certainly answer very well.

So I stay invisible. "That young lady must be Naila, your oldest daughter. Am I right?" I stopped in my steps as the woman asked about me. My eyes widened in shock. How does she know? "Uh.... I'm sorry, we didn't recognise you." Mumma changed the subject. "Oh, you really didn't recognise me." She laughed. "Ofcourse, my husband comes more on TV than me. He shot out an arm and clamped his hand around my wrist. "Isabella, what is this madness? Don't make a scene." To my surprise, a tall, blonde woman walked in with a beaming smile. "Hello there! My name is Alena Sanchez, and I'm a journalist from the famous BMM channel," she introduced herself enthusiastically. Intrigued, I sat up and replied, "Nice to meet you, Alena. What brings you here?" Alena's smile widened. "I've been following the story of your heroic rescue. It's truly remarkable what you did. Sheila said adamantly. She wasn't about to let Amaliah back out under any circumstance. She had to see it through to the end. A job would help in so many ways, especially a well paying one.
