She picked up her phone. “Mara,” she said steadily. “Book the interview. My turn.”
Two days later, she walked into the studio dressed in black — not mourning, but armor. The lights were bright, the air tense with anticipation. The host greeted her warmly, but Alina barely heard the words. She could feel the weight of millions watching, waiting for her to flinch.
She didn’t.
The cameras rolled.
