He stated his boundaries, making Cam and I laugh lightly. "Fine." "So Cam, I've got new jokes for you." "Alright, let's hear them." "Knock knock." "Who's there?" "The interrupting cow." "Did you get that joke from the cartoon 'Home'?" Cam laughed. "Gee, I hoped you wouldn't know it." Rodney clapped his forehead and we all laughed.

At my sudden question, Cassius stared at me. “...” “Because their horns don’t work,” I said and chuckled. “...” He blinked his eyes as is he finally realized that I am saying a joke. But it felt awkward that he did not smile a bit. And so, I thought of another joke that made me laugh so hard before. “I g-got into a fight with someone last night and it was totally my fault.” “...” “Because I was asked what was on the TV. The usual playfulness in his gaze wasn't there as well. “You truly are one unfortunate bastard!" Iris said to Lucien and continued to laugh. I didn't get what the joke was about so I kept quiet. Lucien on the other hand seemed to get the joke because he rolled his eyes and dumped his cup of coffee in the sink. “Fuck off, Iris," Lucien said to Iris as he pulled out a seat for himself. "Are you going to let me in on the joke or should I excuse this bromance?” I asked both of them, if they weren't going to tell me then I might as well have my breakfast in the living room.

Cedric complained. "Sorry, I didn't see you there," he replied, smirking at Cedric, who just laughed it off. He really loves teasing people, that guy. Our eyes met, and his gaze was piercing. What did I do to this guy? He's so annoying, I feel like plucking out his eyes.

I said, heading over to the bar, with him following me. “Hey, it was a good one,” he protested while I placed an order. A few seconds passed by. “Not at all, Cameron,” I sighed as I grabbed the drink from the bartender and downed it in one go. “You need to work on your jokes. Especially if you’re trying to make them funny when they involve that Italian I absolutely fucking hate.” Another drink down.

I covered my mouth but kept laughing. Jace’s eyes widened. "There it is! I’ve been trying to get a laugh like that out of you since we started this whole thing." "Shut up," I said, still smiling. He made me laugh, a genuine, bubbling sound that felt good after the fear. “Your turn,” he challenged, when he finished. “Tell me a joke. Something to keep the darkness at bay.” I thought for a moment. “Okay, okay… What do you call a fake noodle?” He raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on his lips. “What?” “An impasta!” I delivered the punchline with a flourish, and he actually laughed, a deep, booming sound that warmed the room. “Alright, alright, that was a good one, for a rookie,” he teased. “My turn. Why did the scarecrow win an award?”
