Something strange happens in Rafe's house, especially in Luna's room. A very old magic book, the Grimoire, opens by itself. The room feels even stranger when ghostly laughter is heard. Then suddenly a clear sentence breaks the silence. "I must hurry with this plan," says a mysterious voice, and then the Grimoire disappears as if it had never been there. The story moves to the wilds of Borneo, a different and secret place. Here many helicopters, supported by air force planes, are searching for something important.

“Yes, that’s a good idea.” We settled into our spots—Victor on one side of Jasmine and me on the other. I pulled out the storybook I had brought, a collection of fairy tales with colorful illustrations that Jasmine loved. As I began to read, Victor’s gaze softened. He settled comfortably, leaning back against the headboard with a contented sigh. “Once upon a time,” I began, my voice gentle and rhythmic, “in a land far, far away, there was a magical forest where all the animals lived happily together…”

I can tell Uncle Leo we aren't ready yet. 'I'm sure. I don't think it will help us, but it won't hurt either.' She said. I picked up the book. It was an old, deep brown, leatherbound book with the title in gold leaf. 'Tales of Olde'. It was heavier than I expected. Uncle Leo hadn't told me the title of the story so I skimmed the contents page. None of the titles mentioned an unnamed wolf. I sighed.

“Hey… about what you saw earlier.” She jumped, clutching the book to her chest. “I—I didn’t see anything. I swear. I won’t tell anyone.” I smiled softly and stepped even closer, backing her gently against the shelves. “Relax. Professor Harlan and I… we have an understanding. But I saw how you looked at us. You didn’t run away because you were scared. You ran because it turned you on, didn’t it?” Her cheeks burned brighter. She shook her head quickly. “No… that’s not… I’m not—”

He gently took the book back before sliding it into its rightful place. "We once travelled further than most people now remember." He wandered slowly along the shelves. "Our storytellers returned with tales from kingdoms beyond Hell, from deserts where the sand sang beneath the moon, forests whose trees grew taller than mountains, oceans so vast an entire lifetime could pass without finding the opposite shore." His hand moved to another shelf.

I blush while looking over at Raven who approaches me with a few books in hand. “What did you find?” I question while holding up a pair of shorts checking if they will fit. I smiled when I see Rebecca grabbing tank tops in colors, she knows I love. “I found a couple pregnancy books that look good, and I found this one of Viking stories it reminds me of Vaari,” Raven answers while showing me the books and I smile remembering Mummo Adaline and Vaari Jyrki always reading us stories. “They look good, thank you,” I smile while grabbing the story book and open it seeing that it looks like Mummo’s book or at least the illustrations do.

"They have books! Remember how we used to go to the used bookstore when I was a kid? ‘Storybook Land’. Oh my God, I loved that place!" "Of course I remember," she said with a chuckle. "We used to spend hours there. You were obsessed! I swear, we spent more money there than we did on food the summer you were in kindergarten. You loved that series about the puppy. What was it called again?" She was right. My mom had taken me there almost every weekend. And when things started to go wrong with my dad, it was our haven. We hid there and immersed ourselves in the pages of other worlds. Worlds where no matter what the problem might be, whether it was vicious dragons, evil monsters, or even puppies

She stole my breath away at that moment. She picked up the phone at the other end, her eyes urging me to do the same. “I’m planning on writing a book,” she whispered, still maintaining her friendly face. “Writing a book? Bitch, what the hell do you want?” I yelled, my eyes blazing with fury. What did her writing skills have to do with me? “The book is about failures. Guess who would be on the cover? You,” she said, her lips parting as laughter escaped them. I stared at her with rage, different methods of turning her instincts flickering in my mind.

He let out the friendliest of smiles, making Anderson very uncomfortable. Anderson stared back and forth between Suit and the scroll. His mind was racing. The contract sounded simple enough. Straightforward, but he did not understand. ‘What did he mean by survive the stories? Did he not say I was going to tell a story? What does survive the story mean?’ Question after question popped up into his head. He could not help himself. He had no idea exactly what it meant, but one thing was for certain; He would not move forward if he did nothing but constantly question the situation
