I watched his chest rise and fall as his breathing began to grow shallower, and knew that he would be taking his last breath within the next few seconds. I chuckled to myself, feeling even just a little victorious. If this would be the end of my life, at least I took a monster out of this world with me. The guards grip tightened around my neck at my laugh, and I involuntarily reached to try and pry them off. Failing as my entire body was weakened from being beaten into the ground. The guard laughed at my attempt, the sound revolting as it came from his thin lips, and squeezed my throat even tighter. I tried to suck in one last breath as my air supply was cut off, and my vision began to blur.

Theo’s starting to feel light-headed as little oxygen is only left in his system but he still tries to be alert in order to save Maddie. Theo scooped Maddie in his arms and the fear in him doubled when he saw her lifeless body. He doesn’t have any second to waste especially when the other sirens are coming. As soon as he was about to be breathless, they surfaced. While panting and still exhausted, Theo put Maddie on the ground. “Maddie.” He said breathlessly as he put his ear against her mouth. He groaned when he didn’t feel any air coming out of her.

She cast a sly glance at me and held the book very close to her chest. “Do you know what this is?” “No, your Utmost Prosperity.” “It is the most important book you’ll possess till you die…that’s what it is.” Slowly, she held the book with her right hand and suddenly flung it at my chest. In a twinkle of an eye, a purple puff of smoke enveloped my abdomen, while the book disappeared immediately. Soon, I began to feel a strange force inside my chest, as if my lungs were frozen. My breathing became slightly laboured, while my gaze remained on her Utmost Prosperity, as if she’d hypnotised me.

Blood trickled from her nose, her skin paling rapidly. She turned to him, her lips trembling but smiling still. “Take care of her… tell her I loved her more than life itself.” “No,” he choked, pulling her into his arms as her strength drained away. “Stay with me. Please, don’t leave me like this.” She smiled weakly down at her child, whose cries had softened into sleep, eyes wide as though she understood. The seal was complete as the glow around her dimmed. “My little one,” the mother whispered, her last breath against his chest as she collapsed more into her husband's body. “Live. Even if I do not… live.”

Slow, heavy and different. She sat up abruptly, fear flooding her chest. Something had changed. The ground trembled beneath her. Far away, horns sounded. Not warning. Summons. The sky opened again . This time, even deeper. And a voice rolled across the broken horizon. “The bridge has been touched.” Aria stared at the sky, horror dawning fast. “Prepare the execution.”

After a few minutes, I couldn’t breathe at all. My eyelids grew heavy, the world around me blurred, and my legs gave out beneath me. I didn’t know what happened after that because I immediately felt my spirit move out of my body. *** "A sweet smelling savor hit my nostrils as I tried getting up from where I was lying. I heard a rumbling sound in the sky. The splashes of rain hit the windows and the wind caused the curtains to move in its direction.

“Hold on, okay? The ambulance is on its way.” Her face scrunched up in pain and her body started to tremble. “D-don’t . . . don’t l-l-leave m-me.” “I’m not going anywhere,” he assured her. After a few more tense, dread-filled moments the little girl’s breathing began to be troubled, her skin losing color and growing colder by the second: he was losing her. “Stay with me. Stay with me, okay?” She tried to speak, but nothing more than a whispered murmur came from her lips. With a last gasp of breath, the girl named Chavon whom James never knew, breathed her very last breath and her life was released.
