,she suddenly screamed out when her hair was pulled back painful. Layla shut her eyes and tried to stop herself from trembling. "Take me to them, right now",the wizard hunter growled in her ear and yanked Nisha's hair backwards again, making her cry out. "What shall we do with the witches?",the third man who had been quiet since asked in a hoarse voice. "Burn them all!",the wizard hunter said coldly and dragged Nisha out with him. Layla shut her eyes as a flame erupted and the smell of burning flesh filled the room. She clamped her hand over her mouth to hold back her sobs as the men left the shop and their footsteps receded.

She crawls out of the reach of his grasp and over to us. “Someone help him!” She cries out as I pull her into my arms. Atticus charges in; there was no way the Hunter was getting away this time. As the Hunter doges blow after blow, I find myself amazed at their movements. It’s like this person was trained from birth to do this, to face furious monsters head-on. Finally, black smoke starts to snake up Hunter’s body, and he’s swallowed by darkness. “The Witches…” I said, knowing that they had helped him escape, but why? Were they not considered monsters as well to the Hunters?

It dragged the light out of me, inch by inch, until I could no longer tell if I was shaking from agony or from the emptiness that followed. I could hear the Hunter's voices, filled with happiness. “Keep going, it's working. It's working.” they told the witch but suddenly there was a pause in the room. My voice echoed, filling the room with a loud painful groan. Even as pain circulated my body, I was thankful that she stopped. “What happened? Are you done? Is her magic gone?” a Hunter asked the woman. She kept quiet, not answering any of their questions.

Hunter's deep voice vibrated through my bedroom door as he made his rounds.

Killing them was usually just as hard, though. “So who was the hunter?” I asked, shuffling back in my seat. “Esther – that was my girlfriend – was searching for a witch to help her undo the curse. Who better to track down a witch than a woman trained to do so from birth?” He shrugged. “That was when I met Steph. Stephanie,” he corrected, and then he frowned to himself, as though admonishing himself for rudely using her nickname. “She was very much like you. Though she didn’t have the spark of passion that you do, Callie. She was more... clinical. By the book.”

Immediately Shirley's heard the man's voice, it sounded so familiar so she strained her eyes to look at him then she realized that he was the same person she assumed to be the leader of the rogues all those years ago. "Mom! Are you okay?" Hunter said running towards her. "Yeah I am," Shirley replied. "Be careful around her mom, she is a witch, I am guessing the exact witch that help them all those years ago to kidnap dad," Hunter said through the mind-link. "Mom!! Hahaha, this is getting interesting. I wasn't expecting something so good today, my fortune said something good is coming my way, but I did not expect it to be this good. So I am going to have; father, mother and son in my custody?

Edward had planned to lure the witches to show themselves at the center of the field to obscure the positions of military personnel present beyond the soccer field. I took out my phone and tried texting Carla and then sent another message to Maria. I did not know what to say. She knew that I am a witch hunter and I did not know how she accepted the fact that I lied to her but I texted her anyway, asked her if she’s alright.

I pointed out, getting on the bike while I waited for her to join me. She got on the bike and her smaller hands found their way around my waist, gripping tightly. Was that the loud sound of my heartbeat speeding up? What was this craving coursing through me? Get a fucking grip Hunter. “You know I’m curious, Hunter. Why are you helping me? Your kind has been murdered endlessly by wolves and vampires and yet here you are, risking your life for me,” She whispered. I blew out a wisp of breath out of my lips as I started the engine, navigating on the deserted main road.
