The Lincoln Highway Audiobook Novels & Stories

Her daughter was the younger version of herself, stubborn and sharp as a double-edged sword when facing criminals who defied the law. After three hours of travel, the car stopped at a hunting lodge on the edge of the forest. Lincoln suspected it belonged to the Crawford family. The two burly men dressed like thugs flanking him escorted Lincoln out of the car and into the hunting lodge. It turned out the senator had been waiting for him in the living room of the hunting lodge, which had a soft brown vinyl sofa. The dried and preserved heads of wild animals adorned the walls of the room.

After about fifteen minutes, I saw his black Lincoln racing toward us from the horizon, kicking up a cloud of dust in its wake. The car was moving way too fast for the narrow country road, and I could hear the engine roaring even from a distance until it skidded to a stop near us with a screech of brakes. I coughed hard when some of that dust cloud hit us, waving my hand frantically to clear the air from my lungs. Damn it, didn't he know how to drive without creating a tornado? I turned to Thadeus to say goodbye, grateful he'd stayed with me but he surprised me by pulling me into a warm hug and patting my back affectionately.

I remained a silent observer, ignoring the pleas that would have moved a lesser man. Lincoln forced her into the back seat of the lead car. He climbed in after her, his face a mask of grim determination. My other men, seasoned and silent, filed into the cars behind them. The engines roared to life, that signaled the end of her time in this world. I watched from above as the convoy began to move. The dust kicked up by the tires blurred the image of Maya’s face pressed against the glass, her mouth still moving in silent, desperate pleas.

Roy said without fear, Asher was a very fearful man, but Roy never resist the opportunity to tell him the truth even when it seem like disrespect. Asher hit the steering wheel. “Text me the hospital address, I will fly there now.” He hung the phone off and drew a sharp sigh, he glanced in the direction where Gray’s car drove off from, then he chuckled bitterly. After a moment of silence, his eyes darkened and he made a turn, heading to the airport, for Argentina. *** Mr. Lincoln stood at the large French window, his two hand on his back, his face expressionless as he stared out of the window. A knock came on the door, he asked the person to come in without turning back.

“Get in the car.” I swallowed hard and obeyed, sliding into the backseat. Lincoln followed, sitting so close that I could feel the heat radiating from him. The door closed with a soft thud, and the driver started the engine. The car was silent as we pulled away from the club, the city lights blurring past the windows. I sat rigidly, my hands clenched in my lap as I waited for Lincoln to speak. “You’re not just anyone, Jane,” he said finally, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade.

"Annie! Annie Carter! Wake up! You, the boy next to her—give her a nudge." Someone gently nudged my elbow, pulling me out of the endless darkness. The blurry scene in front of me slowly cleared. I turned my head and saw Wade's face, and my heart skipped a beat. "For question sixteen, the answer's C," Wade whispered, covering his mouth. I ignored the answer and just stared straight at Wade, reaching out to touch his face. It was warm.

"I understand her. Don't worry about me." He nodded his head and tapped my hand. "You will get along soon. Maybe let's just give her time for now." I nodded my head and we both walked outside. As we got in the car, she looked at me with a deadly look. Mr. Lincoln was in his driver's seat while Mrs. Lincoln was seated beside him in the front seat. Meanwhile, Bridget is on the left side of the backseat and now- I am on the right side. Mr. Lincoln started the engine. No one talked until we got to the school.

It was obvious there was no trust. “Yesss!! Tis Moi, my little chickadee. You’re hero has arrived. I parked up a half mile away from where we saw you, please head with Rhea past the traffic lights she got off and come find me. I’m on the side of the road. How’s your foot?” Linlin was busily waving her hands at passing cars slowing down to see if she had broken down with her odd choice of parking space, getting annoyed with busybodies.

She got on the steering wheel and ingnited the car thunderously shocking the heavy built man . She hooted madly and all the vehicles paved way for her . She took off at a higher speed that the person with the gun was stunned . His driver had no other option but to pave way . She drove until she reached the gate of the villa . Mr Lincoln was the one who was surprised more than all of them . How dare her move all those cars with hooting only and even knew the gate of the villa yet she had never been there.

Lincoln asked him while ushering him towards his car. “A bit.” “Don’t be. You’ll do well,” Lincoln assured him. Shun just smiled, it barely relaxed him. Lincoln drove for half an hour. While driving, he, as usual, fired his flirts away just to ease Shun’s tension. Shun was a bit thankful; it managed to make him less nervous. But that doesn't last long once they stood in front of a white elegant mansion. Shun gulped. He expected Lincoln’s wealthiness already, but he can’t help to be overwhelmed because of how rich he actually is.
