I don’t even care much about what’s on it, because the bread here is so divine that I barely notice the meats and cheeses. I watch the bustle on the street while I sip my drink and wait for my food. Couples walk by holding hands, groups of friends laugh with each other, and a few tables over I see a waiter flirting shamelessly with a group of girls. Out of nowhere, loneliness grips me. Here I am in the most beautiful city in the world, and I’m all alone. This should be the best experience of my life, but I just want to be home with the people I love.

“I did not say hot.” “You didn’t have to.” I turned back to the window and folded my arms, trying not to give her anything else. The city was thinning now, flattening itself into industrial stretches and dead roads and fenced compounds that looked exhausted even in daylight. Everything out there had the same tired colour to it. Wet concrete. Corrugated metal. Stagnant puddles with rainbows of old oil shivering across them. The sort of places people worked in and moved through and forgot to think about the minute they left. There was something lonely in that part of town, though perhaps I was only seeing loneliness because it was already in me.

Aeternum merely ended their suffering. Already, these documents circulated discreetly among UNA allies. Protests once staged against Aeternum’s “warmongering” now faltered in the face of mounting evidence. Rivals might sneer, but the truth could not be denied: Lone Star had become the villain of its own story. That night, alone with my maps and candlelight, I pressed my pen against the parchment and drew a single line from Vaelric City to Star City. “This will be the road that ends a kingdom,” I whispered.

… After two days and nights of relentless work, Mom finally separated the human tissue from the animal tissue. The results shocked everyone. Patrick stared at Mom in disbelief. "You're saying only a quarter of this is human?" Mom's face was ice-cold as she nodded. "Yes." A heavy silence fell over the room. They had initially assumed the only missing part was the head. No one expected that so much of the body was missing, too. If human tissue had somehow ended up on the public's dinner plates, the entire city would be thrown into utter chaos. The higher-ups were taking this matter very seriously. The situation was growing more and more complicated.

He chuckled, "You are." Nyla rolled her eyes, "Girl, you know I want nothing to do with him. His wolf... That's a whole other story. That's a whole lotta lovin' there." I rolled my eyes as I asked Conri, "So, where are we going?" He grinned, "You'll see." I sat back and enjoyed the view, as we passed through our town and merged onto the highway. We continued driving until we merged off the highway, and into a neighboring town. I had never seen this city before. I asked, "Where are we?" He explained, "This is a neighboring city in our kingdom. Dad thought about putting a castle here, but we really like the small town we are in. It's not as stressful as a big city." I asked, "So do humans live

Could she accept loving half a man? I opened the door slowly – more or less expecting her to be ready with a shotgun. But then I remembered that this was Rose and not Cracker or Pitbull I had in my apartment, and so I walked in. The apartment felt strangely cold and empty. It had never felt like this when I got home before. Sure, I was alone, but I’d never felt--- Lonely...!

“Don’t worry. I know exactly what to say.” The next evening, the city buzzed with its usual restlessness. Bars filled, alleys whispered, and radios hummed in countless apartments, cars, and shops. In one of those lonely corners, Rico sat hunched in the back of an abandoned warehouse, a battered transistor radio his only companion.

Heavy snow had fallen over the northern part of the city. Northern Capitoville, this ancient and bustling city, already carried a hint of cold before the snow arrived. The sky seemed slowly covered by an enormous gray curtain, overcast, oppressive, and silent. The trees along the streets trembled in the cold wind. Their bare branches looked particularly stark against the dim sky. Occasionally, a few withered leaves were swept up by the wind, spinning weakly in the air before slowly falling back down. The moment Cora stepped out of the airport, the cold northern wind gave her goosebumps. Fortunately, only the short walk from the plane exposed her to the wind and snow.

I could no longer bear to look at him again. So I turned into a wolf and ran away, diving into the thickest forests. I did not stop, I just kept running and running and running. I never wanted to see Lucian again, nor the other wolves. I only wanted to keep on running to a different place, a place where I could not think of anything again, I kept on running and running without stops, I was so stupid. My whole life I saw Lucian as the one. After my parents died, Lucian was the only one who made me smile. It turned out he just saw me as a sister in need.

He searched and searched until finally, an old man told him there was only one person in this city who could do such a thing, and that it wasn't cheap. Xolvion had finally come to a small shop on the edge of the city, located in the slums closest to the city walls. "So this is the place?" Xolvion thought before he knocked on the door, noting that it was well hidden. Nobody answered and Xolvion knocked again, this time getting a response. "Yeah im coming!" A voice said before the door opened. Xilvion was met by a tomboyish girl with large breasts and short hair that was flicked across her face.
