A surge of adrenaline coursed through me as I projected a desperate mental blast: "HUNTERS!" I plummeted from my perch, a silent avenger, as the rifle's crack split the air, a leaden missile finding its mark on our valiant warrior wolf. With the finality of death whispering through the trees, the wolf crumpled silently to the forest floor. It was just after 3am in the morning when Hunter arrived at the address which Adrian had sent to him a few days ago. He had come prepared with a crowbar, gun, and sharp knife, leaving no room for errors. The house was on the outskirts of New-York city, hidden behind tall hedges. Hunter stepped out of his car and quietly made his way up the driveway. He tampered with the security camera that was outside and switched it off before he unlocked the closed door with a crowbar and opened it quietly, not wanting to wake up his opponent.

The next morning, I went out to hunt with the Pack hunters, but before leaving, I left instructions for Richmond to watch over my mate, specifically asking for him to watch her himself, and not to delegate Ray to do it. Aleah froze, her breath catching as fear coursed through her. "Jonathan, what are you doing?" Aleah asked, her voice trembling. "This is the only way. Once he’s gone, you’ll be mine," Jonathan said coldly, his grip tightening on the weapon. Hunter’s lips curled into a smirk, his confidence unshaken. "Do you really think you can scare me with that?" he said, his tone sharp and defiant. "Keep dreaming." In a blur, Hunter lunged at Jonathan, knocking the gun from his hands. It flew to the ground, out of reach.

He had promised Corinne that he would capture the person responsible for the attack on her brother’s life and that was exactly what that wolf that was sneaking around in the forest would help him do. “You should go back too.” He encouraged, like a fisherman stretching his line “I can do this alone...” “If you insist.” Belle’s voice sounded calm, but he knew her well enough to hear the tension there. “I’ll just…” Before they could provoke further, the rustle of leaves nearby made Hunter turn around at just the right moment to see the intruding wolf approaching him with its teeth bared, ready to chew on his ankles. As soon as they got the lead, Patrick immediately took his team to Albert's house. The moment they kicked open the door of the Heath residence, a rancid stench hit them in the face. He saw the sky turning indigo black. Hunter hiccuped on his way up to the room. Although highly drunk, he managed to go up without falling on his face.
