He reached into his jacket and pulled out a thick book, tossing it onto the table between us with casual indifference, “Here, since you’re stuck here for your little vacation anyway, might as well make good use of the time, maybe learn something that doesn’t involve asking questions that could get you killed.”
I looked down at the book, recognizing it as some kind of crime novel, then back up at Elias with irritation, “I’m not on vacation, I’m being held here against my will.”
“Potato, pothato," he said with that infuriating smirk of his, “either way, you’ve got time to kill and nothing better to do with it, so try not to drive yourself crazy overthinking everything.”
