She hissed, and the hungry wolf lunged. The sounds of my screams echoed, but there was no one for miles to hear me. ©COPYRIGHT 2025/ T. MURPHY. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

a voice yells. “Are you sure this is how you want to do it?” Milo asks Calesti. “He needs to know,” Calesti says with a sigh. “Every wolf on this planet is born without a soul, we’re heartless,” Milo starts and all the wolves howl to the moon, they were happy about the fact that they are born without a soul? “But you’re nice,” I heard Finn say to Calesti. “Now you monsters settle down, you all know we are looking for our lost souls,” Theo says howling with them happily.

Well, I guess I'll have to tell her the truth because she always knows when I'm lying, and she hates it when I do. She's the only friend I have in the entire pack. She's already transformed and is a beautiful omega. Her fur is golden, and her eyes are dark brown. She has a sweet and fiery personality, but that rarely surfaces. Her wolf's name is Lilica. She's very rebellious against the injustices committed against omegas. She's also very funny. Milly is six years older than me and no longer needs to attend the academy, but like me, she hasn't found her mate yet. It seems I'm not the only exception to love among wolves.

She growls as we move past the angry looking wolves, and I blush in return everytime. Millie and I have never had a friendly relationship. She has merely tolerated my presence. To see and hear her defending me is definitely new. Maybe giving her my meal meant more to her than it did to me. "Walk with your head up, Alpha Female. They are below you," Millie suddenly whispers, and my eyes widen. I staighten my spine and redirect my eyes to looking forward. I tilt my chin up. Wolves Amber. Wolves.

Whispering and Murmuring, the sound of fear spreading like wildfire. "Head up," Milo whispered beside me. "You are still their alpha." But was I? Could a beast truly lead a pack of wolves? We emerged from the forest path, and silence fell like a hammer. Hundreds of eyes turned to us. Some gasped. Others stepped back. A child started crying, and the sound cut through me worse than any blade.

Irritated, I pulled it away from him and closer to myself. "Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I'm always so interested in myths and legends. The stories are so amazing. I'd just never seen that one before, the one you were looking at. About wolves that are cursed to remain as humans. That's like... A twisted version of the werewolf story." He kept rambling on, telling the story of creation and how all 'supernatural' beings were created. I didn't know how this pertained to me because I was a wolf and nothing else but I was drawn to Motty's story and when he was done, looking up at me like he expected me to have a question of some kind, I realized that this must be it. This must be the informant

She didn’t heed. As always. Stubborn wolf. Killian’s wolf roared. His brown eyes pierced Miracle’s neck. He was ready to launch another attack. “Little girl, it’s your last living day. I wish you a happy and painful death.” Killian’s wolf sneered. He let out a low growl. Then, a loud howl attacked Miracle again. She dodged. “His wolf can talk? What more does he have underneath that thick, old and wrinkled body?” I felt disgusted. This was the second rare power.

“Snow is not. Oscar told me that Noah takes great pains to make sure of that. If that wolf is kissing you, it means something. I just don’t know what.” “I can tell you exactly what it means,” came a discarnate male voice that hinted of a Scottish brogue from the far side of the room. To my surprise, Snow did not react in a negative way to the voice. Instead, he trotted in the direction that it came from and stood as if patiently waiting for someone or something. “Who’s that?” Kenzie said in a hushed whisper as she nervously grabbed a poker from the nearby fireplace and took a defensive position.

His voice was low, but filled with a chilling calmness that mirrored the steel in his eyes. Cyrus’s expression darkened, and he stepped closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. "You think it’s just me? You’re both dead already. There’s nowhere left to run." He leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with a knowing malice. "You’ve made a fatal mistake by trusting each other. The empire doesn’t just destroy enemies, Ravenspine. It destroys loyalties."

Miss you guys. Then I drop the phone again. My hands are shaking slightly. The silence of the large, unfamiliar room hums around me, a waiting silence. I break it first. “So, Isla… what are wolves actually like? Besides possessive and obsessed with titles.” She chuckles, a comforting, rolling sound in my mind. "Depends on the wolves, really. These ones? Traditional. Bound to cultures, customs, rituals, and strict hierarchy. Honestly, they cling to traditions more than any other supernatural creature I know. It's their method of staying grounded and hidden."
