My fist caught her ribs, not hard enough to break anything, solid enough to hurt. She gasped, stumbling. Viper was a veteran for a reason. Even hurt, even confused, she was dangerous. For three seconds, we grappled on the mat. Her technical skill was superior, every movement was practiced, efficient, designed to trap and control. As she jumps, the vultuzzard jumps after her. We all watch as if, in slow motion, Jump lands on the side of the mountain. She lands on it with both her feet before pushing off against it.
