The Next Chapter Novels & Stories

I stood still for a long moment, taking one final look around the room. It no longer looked like a guest room. It looked like another chapter of my life that was ending before I was ready. I picked up my handbag, wrapped one hand protectively around my stomach, and pulled my suitcase toward the door. The journey downstairs felt much longer than usual. Each step echoed throughout the silent mansion. The house that had once felt warm now felt unbearably cold. When I reached the front door, I stopped. My fingers rested on the handle. "One more fresh start," I whispered with a sad smile.

Are you feeling better now?" William asked.

Katherine broke the hug, wiped her tears and smiled with determination and said 'We have to win, not just for a better future for us but also for the horrible past of those who have suffered on the hands of Earthlings. Alex just smiled and they hugged once again seeking peace in each other's embrace and conveying each other's pain in silence. After that Kaylee left for her room and Alex was again deep in his thoughts he just couldn't forget the smell and the moment of someone watching him in the library kept replaying in his mind
