TAKE ME, RUIN ME CHAPTER 19 CHAPTER 19: IN MY DOMAIN My hands begin to move as if they have a mind of their own. I can’t seem to stop them. I am kneeling on the soft cushions of the sofa, and I can feel Adrian’s presence like a wall of heat right behind me. My fingers grip the buttons of my work shirt—the crisp, professional fabric that usually makes me feel safe. One by one, I undo them. My heart is thumping against my ribs, a wild, trapped thing. I hold the corners of the collar and slowly slide the shirt down my arms, letting it fall away completely.

“You just love ordering people around, like you’re any better,” I muttered weakly under my breath, barely loud enough for him to hear. I scooted to the edge of the chair, trying not to let my soaked clothes seep into the fabric. He didn’t say a word, didn’t even shoot me a glare. Instead, he reached up and grabbed the collar of his white shirt. To my surprise, he peeled it off in one swift motion, skipping the buttons altogether. My eyes betrayed me, lingering as the muscles of his chest and arms shifted under his pale skin. The shirt landed lazily on the backrest of the chair I was sitting on, the damp fabric slumping as if mirroring my exhaustion.

Luna's POV: I'm standing next to Tatum's bed looking at the shirt he's laid out for me. It's a soft grey color and thicker than the last one. I pick the shirt up and bury my face in it inhaling the masculine scent that lies within it. I hurry and dry myself off snapping my fingers to make a pair of underwear appear before slipping the soft cotton shirt over my body.

I want to get to know him and have him get to know me, but how am I meant to do that when he keeps me at arms-length all the time? With a heavy sigh, I step into my closet and take off my shirt and go to lay out my clothes for tonight. Since Eisa and I didn’t get to go out the other night because my parents had to act like royal bigots, we’ve decided to have a do-over tonight. I go through my closet and lay out some black skinny jeans and black suede shoes. I go to grab my favourite club shirt, but I can’t find it in its usual place. I rummage through the entire closet and even check the hamper, but I can’t find it. Last I wore it was last week, so there’s a good chance I’ve misplaced it or

“What do you need?” “Another shirt, maybe? This one is…” Chan frowned. How could she tell him it was showing too much? “Too big?” He finished off for her. Chan licked her lips. “No, it’s not that. It’s just that it’s too thin. Do you have a thicker one?” “Yes. Just wait a minute,” he said, heading over to the closet again. What he handed her this time was more decent, Chan decided. It was one of his work shirts. Pale gray with white stripes. It smelled nice, too.

I asked, watching as he pulled out one pristine and perfectly pressed shirt and then another, holding them against his person as though there was some discernable difference between them.
