She hissed and I could feel the atmosphere turning. “We need to hear from the omega, Bernard.” Princess Helena spoke up, and I breathed a sigh of relief. The omega was dragged up the stairs and I could see in her eyes that this wasn’t going to go my way. She kept looking at Irina and I wondered what happened in the short time we were apart. What could Irina have done? She was right there with me the entire time. “Please tell us what happened this morning.” Princess Helena took the lead. “I … Please, don’t make me do this.” The omegas eyes filled with tears as they shot from one royal to the next.

I nodded my head, a smile tugging at my mouth, but her sad expression didn’t change. "But I’m just an Omega, and you’re an Alpha, so why would you choose me? But can I make my case?" she said the last six words too quickly as if she didn’t want me to speak. "Okay," I replied, even though she didn’t need to because she was the one I wanted. "I might be an Omega. But I’m a princess too. Not in this realm, but in the other world. So I could still be on par with you. So even if nobody knows I’m a princess, you know I am. That’s what counts, right?"

The ways she got on my nerves, and I let her, merely enjoying the chase and also confused at the sudden pain in my chest. It's almost unbelievable to look back and compare, to think of this omega desperately lashing out and know that the Princess in front of me is the same person. She made it easier to believe, though, when the omega sunk into the couch, hands crossed like a petulant child. It's only different from the way she was standing in front of me, by the mulish pout on her face.

“I'm still trying to figure out what's so special about you.” My brows inched up. “And that is the reason you called me here?” “I suggest you start addressing the Princess properly, Omega,” one of the handmaids snarled. “Omega?” I huffed out a laugh. “Are all wolves in Farindoria so ridiculously fixated on hierarchy?” Growling, one of the handmaidens lurched at me. "Have her bathed and prepared. I want to see what we have acquired." The servants who led me away whispered among themselves, thinking I could not hear. They spoke of the three princes and their appetites. Prince Darius, the middle son, who could break a man in half with his bare hands. Prince Rhett, the youngest, whose green eyes missed nothing and whose tongue was sharper than any sword. I would have to face them all. Seduce them. Make them trust me. Then I would destroy them. The omega quarters were better than I had expected. Clean beds, warm blankets, and windows that actually let in sunlight. The other omegas watched me with curious eyes as I was led to a private room.

“Say it again.” My lips part, but nothing comes out. Shame tangles with raw need, choking me. Just hours ago, Rylan sneered fatty like I was nothing.
