“Nana did well. She saved me quickly and made the whole plan for me. I’m thankful for that.” Her eyes shimmered, and she looked away for a second as if she were holding something back. “So, what about Nana?” she asked, her voice quiet. “Did she come with you?” My heart dropped. It was hard to say, harder than I could have imagined. I didn’t want to say it, but the words came out anyway. “Nana is dead,” I told her, and the silence that followed was suffocating. “She didn’t make it.”

The morning of the next day when we came back to see Nana, she was gone. I didn't want to believe it. Maurice neither. None of us wanted to believe it. We had spoken to Nana. We had laughed with her. She had said it'll take more than a mere fever to kill her. But she died. She let a complication arising from a fever take her away from us. I wasn't ready for Nana to leave just yet. None of us was. The tears that streamed down my face flowed from the depths of pain in my core. Nana was strong. A strong woman physically, mentally and emotionally. How could a mere fever snatch her away from us?

I hired a few new helpers so that the older ones could rest, but they still helped in the house even though I told them to rest. Nana, Sadly, died almost a year ago. We only found her inside her room. The Doctor said it was a stroke while she slept. I'm just glad she didn't suffer. Everyone was affected when she died. Nana is like a mother to everyone, especially to Dad. Sarah is now the one who manages the house, the one who teaches the new helpers. We have a new cook, driver, gardeners, and headguards. Rea, Sarah's daughter, is already in primary three, and she goes to school with Sander.

She is that special, and because of that she lives away from everyone. Nana is a witch, she confessed it to me not long after I arrived and everyday I learn something new about her.

Agatha, hearing the sudden thump of Nana’s hand hitting the floor looked at her nanny’s pale face. "Nana? Nana? Nana! NANA!" “Oh my god, the elderly woman, she’s dead,” said Prince Bo. Agatha broke down in tears hugging the elderly woman's dead body. She was letting out harsh cries of agony.
