"She hurt my grandson." Her voice was calm. "She wasn't going to just leave him and be happy." She looked at me. "Not unless it was behind bars." Then she turned back to the sink. "But we all know..." She paused. "Well, I at least know how jail can destroy someone's mental state."

Why was I still feeling these things when I was dead? Gary, Eugene, and Carl comforted Phoebe and told her to go upstairs. Then, they stood there in silence. Eugene stared at my photo, looking a little lost. "Did we… did we do something wrong?" The other two nodded. Carl said, "She prepared all of this before her death… which meant she knew she didn't have much time left. Do you remember what happened when we were younger? She said she saw countdown timers above Mom's and Dad's heads."

I said quietly. “Both men were killed right after the breach,” Enzo said. “Someone cleaned up fast.” I leaned back in my chair. “So they got what they needed, and they are still watching.” He hesitated before asking, “Do you think the nanny is part of it?” I looked up at him. The question hung in the air for a moment. “No,” I said finally. “But that does not mean he is safe from it.” Enzo nodded. “Should I tell the men to keep eyes on him?”

Please, you must trust me this time or go and keep searching nannies for your kids. I am sure you’ll find one until their graduation day.” Celeste scoffed at me. “Ari, Austin, do you want me to meet the woman you want as your nanny?” I asked my kids, their approval is my first priority. “Yes, Dad! I like the nice lady we met in the café. I want her as my nanny.” Ariel demanded and I looked up at my sister in defeat who was smirking at me.

Lorenzo screamed and struggled, but Giovanni did not let go at all. "She died." he cried, crying. "She died. I lost her again." Lorenzo sat on the floor, wearing only his hospital shirt, as he watched his mother’s body being cremated. He put his head between his knees and remained silent. With the scene of his mother throwing herself from above, stuck in his memory.

Lilac continued, "He has killed more people you could count on your fingers, werewolves and man alike. You wouldn't have been an exception, Nanny if not for something else." Ollie wanted to recoil but she couldn't find in her to be scared of a fifteen-year-old, werewolf or not. She opted for an awkward laugh, as if, Lilac just told her a harmless joke when it was entirely intended to harm. She sighed and moved to stand up. It was about time she stopped thinking deeply over this. She wasn't a deep thinker nor was she a risk-taker. She just did what she had to do.
