A middling Pack with middling power. But still, you should have your choice of mates.”

It was hard not to trip on my feet when I could feel the burning stares of the pack members at my back. I knew would be wondering what I was doing but they would soon know the answer. The only witch in the pack was the late Luna. Oh!” He snapped his fingers. “There’s another witch in the pack.” “Who?” “The daughter of the late Luna.” I felt the air get stuck in my throat as if I was being suffocated.

“We’re incoming. Paige is unconscious but stable.” Jake’s voice answers instantly, clipped but steady. “Understood. We’re almost at the meeting point with the Midnight Pack.” “Good. We might still make it.” The ground levels out into the open space where the remaining pack is gathered. Wolves move everywhere, some limping, others carrying the wounded. I can see Poppy ahead, pale but determined, clutching a trembling Jaxon against her chest. Murmurs sound through the pack as they see us… see her. The second Jaxon’s eyes find me, his face lights up. “Daddy!”

As he approached, I instinctively took a step back. “Dad,” I muttered, the word slipping out like a plea. “It’s Alpha to you,” he growled, but I didn’t flinch. I couldn’t. “I’m securing a future. This pack is my everything.” He paused. “You’re my daughter, like you claim. You’re part of this pack, and you should contribute to its growth.” “Hahaha. I should contribute to the pack because I’m your daughter?” I shot back.

"Her Pack was attacked a few days ago and her father was injured. She needs our Alpha to help her Pack." "What is her Pack's name?" "Moonlight Pack," Byran answered. Arden nodded. "Do you know the Pack that attacked them?" "Blackcrown Pack." Arden nodded again. "Thank you for the information. You can go now." Byran left and Leonard came out of his hidden place. "So she is Alpha Donald's daughter?" He asked, as he sat down. "What do you plan to do now?" Arden asked. "Isn't she here to see the Alpha? Then I will let her see me. But before then, I want you to investigate and be sure they are both the same person."

Whose pack they paid a visit?’ ‘They went to Wolf’s Cry pack.’

“So you can trap more of us? Do that intimate stuff you talked about? So you can kill us all again?” The anger in her voice struck sharper than any weapon. I didn’t flinch. Instead, I looked at her, not the hostility, not the fear, her. Then I reached out, brushing my hand through her hair gently. “I’m not my father Rachael,” I said, low and steady. “I don’t hurt females. But this pack needs them. We need females to live freely, without fear. To choose their mates.To be able to live in a pack and have a life of freedom and peace. Females are important.”
