I explained further. “We need to visit the pack doctor now,” I told him. “The pack doctor? Why?” he asked, puzzled. “We need to get a poison and antidote for him,” I explained. A look of uncertainty crossed his face, but he didn't object. We made our way to the pack doctor, Dr. Allen. He was known for his great expertise and was well-loved by everyone in the pack for his calm and caring nature. Arriving at the clinic, we were greeted by Dr. Allen with a warm smile. "Alpha Bruno, Beta Daniel, what brings you here?" he asked.

While Luna Yara checks my injuries, the others tell Alpha Warren about Stellan breaching the pack’s borders. “How did this happen? We have security for just this sort of thing,” he growls. “We’re …” I begin, then begin coughing. “Wendy, some water,” Luna Yara says. He was new to the pack, a renowned doctor. Carlos, my mate and Alpha of the Blood Heart pack, had boasted about getting the famous Dr. Rodrigo Sales to take over the pack's hospital. I looked at the doctor again. He was young, I would say handsome if I didn't only have eyes for Carlos, but something in the way he looked at me irritated me, because he looked at me like a woman who was causing her own death.

Okay, she said. Her name is Doctor Victoria Leal and she is one of the best pack Doctors in the pack. She is sixty years old and has watched a lot of stuff happen over the years as a pack Doctor. From the pack being attacked several years ago, to mating ceremonies and watching she wolves give birth to their pups. Dr. Leal has become one of the best doctors in the pack, but she is looking to retire soon. All she needs is a doctor who is qualified to take over the pack hospital.

“Alpha, another body’s been found. But this time, not on the same street. A different location altogether.” I stared at him for a second, anger and stress building behind my eyes. “I can’t deal with that right now. Not now. We’ll talk later. Just—handle it.” Roy gave a slow nod and left without another word. After he left another knock came. This time, it was the pack doctor. He stepped in with his bag in hand, flashing me his usual calm expression. “Doctor,” I exhaled. “I’m so glad you’re here.” He offered me a small smile. “Tell me everything.”

Dr. Kravitz had been with our pack his whole life and took the position of healer seriously. He became our pack doctor at a very young age. “We have finished examining the patient, Alpha. Let’s go to the family room to discuss what we found,” the doctor said, leading everyone down the hall. I looked back at the door and was torn between leaving her and going with the doctor.

However, she doesn’t even seem to remember anything. “That’s good,” The Pack doctor assures her as he scribbled down his paper. “You should go back to rest first, Miss Celia. I’ll just talk to everyone for a second.” Lorcan swallowed a lump that formed inside his throat as he followed the Pack Doctor to his office along with the others. He just knew that this is going to be so bad. “What happened to her, doctor?” Colton immediately asked as soon as everyone has entered his office. All eyes were on him as they awaited for his explanation. The Pack Doctor lowered his head, feeling bad to be the deliverer of bad news.

His hand grabbed the intercom off the table and pressed a number on speed dial. “Come to my office,” he muttered to the mysterious one and hung up. A knock came on the door and the pack doctor, Dr. Jake walked in. He is a young man who had just joined our pack a few months ago. It was even more embarrassing for me to be examined by someone like him. “You are the new doctor?” Alpha pinned him under his scrutinizing gaze. “Yes, Alpha.” Dr. Jake bowed down in respect in front of him and then straightened. His face remained emotionless and plain, waiting for the alpha’s orders.

Soon, we got to my room, and without thinking twice, I rushed in and placed her on the bed, trying to ensure that she was perfectly positioned before letting go. Just as I held her hand, trying to understand what had gone wrong, Beta Nathan entered the room, his steps heavy and frantic with fear, just like mine. “The pack’s doctor is here, Alpha Rowan,” he let out instantly. “And what are you waiting for? Bring him in!” I ordered. The door opened, and the pack’s doctor entered the room, shutting the door behind him. He looked confused, seeing me sitting down so healthy and strong. I understood this; Nathan had given him different information.

I'm in the pack hospital. I need to leave before the Alpha finds me outside the dungeon. I try to get up but I can barely move my body. Every move causes excruciating pain. I start to panic, making the beeps in the room become faster. Oh, I'm hooked up to a bunch of machines. I try to figure out how to unhook them so no one hears the noises.
