Then I placed it just on top of the table close by. She stood just a few feet from me,her arms folded around her body. I started opening, first page, second page, and then third page. They were full of names, pack names. Then I continued, fourth page, fifth page, still more names, I raised my head towards the woman who still stood and watched me. Then I continued opening, sixth page, seven— then a name greeted me quickly. My eyes locked directly on it. Silas Pacta. The keeper of the covenant. My eyes rested on it for several seconds.

"No need to wait. Let's sign a blood pact right now." Declan froze. Seeing I sounded even more resolute than he did, Victoria moved before anyone else could react. Apparently, the blood pact had already been prepared. She had someone bring it over immediately and shoved it in front of me. Declan had already signed his name. My mother swallowed her anger and stepped aside so I could sign. The blood pact took effect. From that moment on, the Silvermoon Pack and Thorncrown Pack owed each other nothing. Victoria practically glowed as she tucked the pact away, then kept nudging Vanessa toward Declan.

I sat in the study of our castle, the yellowed parchment clutched in my hand, a bitter smile on my lips. The ancient vampiric script glowed a deep crimson in the candlelight: "Should Augustine Slinter betray this pact, he shall suffer the pain of a thousand blades through the heart, and his family’s power, fortune, and title will pass in their entirety to Haley Nightshade." In the bottom right corner was a single, blood-red thumbprint. Augustine’s.

They supersede the gods and carry on into the Beyond. Anyone who tries to break a soul pact or find a loophole to get out of it is completely wiped from existence. “It doesn’t matter,” I shake my head. “I refuse to drag you four down my dug hole with me.” The gravity of my words has Asad reaching out, but he stops midair. His brow is furrowed, his short curls mussed over his forehead as he tries to read me. “Or maybe we can help you. Tell us what the pact is about.”

It was a gesture that felt almost tender, which made the power behind it feel even more dangerous. "Fear buys us time, but to rule, they need to see the permanence. They need to see that you aren't just a guest in my house or a weapon I pulled from the woods." "And how do we do that?" I asked. He turned, gesturing toward the vast, vaulted space of the Court. "The Pact needs to be spoken into the record. We hold a binding, not a wedding, that’s a human vanity, a theatrical performance for families and neighbors. This is a synchronization. We weave our signatures into the bedrock of the throne so that if they try to move against you, they move against the foundation of their own reality." he s

So I doubted she would come now to help Luma. My siblings helped in the search, yet all leads ended in dead ends. The most annoying part wasn't her silence. It was the fact that she had disappeared with confidential documents -the Witch Non-Aggression Pact. A treaty signed between my pack and the southern covens. The only thing keeping the witches from overrunning our borders. Without it, my pack was exposed. Vulnerable. If those witches decided to attack, I wouldn't be able to stop them.

A sets the documents for me to sign before me. “You'll need to sign here and here,” he points at certain spots on the document and I nod vehemently. As I read through the documents, the terms and conditions, I realize how much of a mess Carlton is in for him to agree to this deal. He is basically selling off his company, as this document is a pact to officially seal us as business partners. My presence should have been reason enough for him to not go through with it. I put down my signature on the places indicated by the P.A, and it feels as though I am taking control of the company and everything Carlton has.

I won't let her bail out on me at the last minute by banking on the tears façade. "Baby girl, this is the contract" I whispered and sat beside her on the bed. "What contract?" She asked, pretending to be oblivious. "The contract that binds us together. I know there's no need for this, but I still think a contract is necessary to ease your mind. I won't bail out on you or leave you hanging mid way. It's just to reassure you that I'm sincere, I'm willing to make our relationship legally binding. Even if this arrangement is less than ideal, as long as you respect me and continue to make me happy, I will give you anything you want, I will let you live like my girlfriend. You're my woman now, I w

The cover was scarred, the edges worn by centuries. "The Pact of Union," Mirage said, his voice carrying with absolute certainty. "Signed at the dawn of peace among your packs, before the first council was ever formed. Sealed by blood, preserved by magic. Waiting for the day when balance would be restored by the one chosen to unite not just wolves, but all." "Has there ever been something like that...?" Some young Alpha's were in puzzlement, while the older ones had the looks of denial.

Dax let out a low whistle. And the Alpha knelt. Link We called it the Phoenix Pact. Not just rebirth. Resurgence. It bound ten packs by oath, blood, and magic older than the moon. But as the last vow was spoken, I felt it—that tremor beneath the stone floor. A lie. One of them wasn’t true. And I’d find the traitor. Even if I had to tear this whole pact apart to do it. Lily Something was wrong.
