The Runaway Bride Novel Novels & Stories

"What do you mean embarrassment? Isn't this more embarrassing now?" "Look!" He let go of my arm and gritted his teeth as his blue eyes stared at me intensely. "My real bride ran away. I don't know if it's true or if someone abducted her. I need to find her and before that, you…you have to act as my bride for now." "What?" I quickly shook my head. "No! No, I can't! I need to leave now and marry my supposed husband. You're not the only desperate one here, mister. I'm about to lose my mother's company. I can't let it happen."

Lucas seemed offended that his mom would think that of him. But she chuckled instead, "Right as if you two don't do anything together, so now back to what you've done." She wasn't wrong; they always did everything together no matter what. It was their little habit since childhood, they always were a team and always did mischief together, they were that way. "Well, it all started with the runaway bride." Seb started elucidating everything that had happened, all the plans they made, their scheming, and plotting, then the falling in love, the Harper situation, then Scar's kidnapping, and everything else till now.

The wedding couldn’t be over already. Getting out of bed, I put on a short dress I had bought from one of the slave seamstresses and stepped out. When I saw Maryanne at the door, I went there. She was drinking soda and so was everyone around her. “What happened? Was the wedding cancelled?” “Cancelled?” Maryanne said. “No, even more salacious. The bride is gone, and no one knows where she is.” “Jane is gone,” one of the girls said. “Yeah, apparently she ran away.”

She didn't look back — not because she wasn't tempted, but because she had learned something about herself in eighteen months of marriage to Alexander Sinclair. If she looked back she would find a reason to stay. And she had run out of reasons to stay that were actually about her. The elevator doors closed. Lobby. Then the street. Then the cold New York air hit her face like a question she had finally decided to answer. Her phone was already in her hand. Evelyn picked up on the second ring. "I need to leave," Helen said. No preamble. No explanation. "Tonight." A beat of silence. Then Evelyn — steady, fierce, already moving:

“I've learnt things the hard way, I once trusted a man and he took everything away from me. I'm still trying to pick up the pieces and when I'm done he won't know what hit him.” “How do you plan on doing it?” Levi asked. I smirked, “by doing what they thought I'd never do. I'll start my own business and become extremely successful. Successful enough for them to see me everywhere they go and I'm going to make sure they all regret the day they took me for granted.” “But that's enough info about me. What happened to your runaway bride?" I asked. Levi shrugged. "I don't know. She just left, with no note and no calls. And now I'm in a bit of a bind."

I ran until the lights of the cathedral disappeared and the city swallowed me whole. I don’t know how long I ran (ten minutes? Twenty?). My legs gave out in front of a tiny 24-hour coffee shop glowing like a lighthouse in hell. I shoved the door open, soaked, shaking, mascara streaking down my face like war paint. The barista (a nineteen, purple hair, nose ring) took one look at me and dropped the milk pitcher. “Holy shit. You’re… you’re the runaway bride. It’s trending everywhere.” I laughed. It came out broken. “Yeah. Can I just… sit?”

The Runaway Bride RAYMOND I stared at her with so much curiosity filling my mind. Why did she run away from getting married to me back then? Did she find me unworthy of her? Was that why she ran in the first place? Maybe she didn't like my status as an illegitimate heir of my family.. It wasn't also my choice to get married to her, but I wanted to fulfill a dying wish. I continued to watch her sleep as different questions filled my mind. Vera used to be a very beautiful woman, I've seen her once before, her skin was as fair as snow and her hair was soft as silk and shiny.

"Let's go." Chad's marriage was proof enough that he was over Whitney—Isaac therefore did not have to watch his back for him now. "Yeah," Stan replied, and drove off. Unbeknownst to them, the bride had been staring at their car the instant it arrived and stopped outside, and was still watching as they drove into the distance. The unrepressed spite in her eyes was certainly sinister. "What are you looking at?" Chad asked just then. "I saw Isaac Jefferson's car," the bride replied unhappily.

Without hesitation, I hopped into his car. I need her now. I'm thankful for having her. "Sorry if I'm late for your wedding. But I'm thankful because I wouldn't gain anything if I were on time since you're apparently a runaway bride. Haha, my tardiness still worked out perfectly because I saw you running like a fool in a wedding gown. Haha. You still look beautiful even as a runaway bride," he rambled on, thoroughly amused by my actions. I responded with a grateful smile.

Byron suddenly realized he was almost at the outskirts of town, and he had to hurry if he was going to make it to the church before the bridal party. After a hectic driver, he arrived just in time to see Pam and the bridesmaids stepping out of their vehicle. "Pam!" he called as he approached them, "I have to see you for a moment." Emily was already there, dressed in a one-shoulder peach gown that showed off her hourglass figure. He gave her a very rushed kiss in greeting, leaving her a little perplexed. "What's up?" Pam said. It would be hard to get her away from everyone now that she was surrounded by bridesmaids.
