Eclipse of the Dead
He motioned for me to follow him, and I quickly grabbed my gear and stepped out.
“Stay close,” he said, his voice low, eyes scanning the area around us.
We moved carefully, staying in the shadows as much as possible. I had read all the reports, analyzed the data, but nothing could have prepared me for the sight that greeted us as we ventured deeper into the zone.
The infected were everywhere. They wandered aimlessly, their eyes vacant, their movements jerky and unnatural. Some of them were clawing at the remnants of buildings, while others limped through the streets, dragging their bodies behind them as though they had forgotten what it meant to be human.
