"Mm…. Okay then see you later babe" "Mmm" she hummed in response ready to turn and leave but was pulled back again for a kiss, wrapping her hands around his neck while Alan gripped her waist tightly. They just can't get enough of each other. A minute later they pulled away and she ran inside without turning back, her cheeks were all red. Alan smiled and drove away.

Something that felt, in spite of everything, like the beginning of something rather than the continuation of something else. The beginning of an after that had a name.

"I'm your first, Bianca. I took your virginity that night. We both know that. There's a connection there—a first is always significant. You can't just erase that." He was still standing there, like a silhouette in the distance, slowly fading into the fog. I turned forward, closed the car window, and looked ahead, my heart calm. The fog gradually lifted, sunlight spilling gently, and I knew this was the start of a new beginning.
