When she turned, he was already striding toward her, graceful and dangerous. "Interesting choice of outfit for a visit to your Alpha," he said, eyes sweeping over her with unapologetic intensity. "No bra... and jeans?" Elara’s breath hitched. "I—I wanted to look nice. For you. Both of you." The Alpha tsked, shaking his head slowly. "Nice, yes. But jeans, Elara? Do you even realize what you’re doing?" Elara’s face flushed, shame and desire battling inside her. "I can take them off, Alpha... if you prefer."

There was no redeeming my shirt. “There he is!” I heard from the door and swiftly lifted my head, only to find the entire camp at the door laughing and pointing fingers at me. The jerk who said I looked like a vampire's barf had assembled the entire camp to come take a look. I was overly embarrassed and no matter how hard I fought, a drop of tear trickled down my cheeks.

"O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"

The rain fell heavily and my heart felt so heavy but relieved at the same time. ‘Summer must’ve reached its early ending by the end of the month.’ I smile at the thought. The car takes a turn to the parking lot of a food chain. I look at Dan, “may payong ka bang dala?” I ask him and he stares back at me. “Wala” he plainly replies to me while we both stare at each other in disbelief before laughing.

Checks the time 'Sh*t it's already six thirty'. Summer had begun and all of the neighborhood kids took advantage of every bit of daylight that shined. As soon as the sun come up you could hear the ATV's rummble from inside the house. Blacking out her windows to get some sleep during the daylight hours had done its job but there was nothing she could do about the noise disturbing her rest. She remembered what it was like to be a child. Carefree. Happy. Endless summer days with friends. That isn't something she dared ruin for them. Besides her salted caramel java monster would pep her up in no time.

Just then Stefan and Ronald entered with Julia and Amy and saw everybody is laughing so much. “Wow, that’s great all are looking very happy,” Julia said and moved towards Sarah. “How are you, dear? I am glad to see you happy.” She kissed her forehead. “I am fine, big aunt. Jack was telling us childhood stories of Stefan and his pet Fuji.” Sarah said excitedly. All started laughing again, including Julia and Ronald recalling about the past. Sujata made disgusting faces and mumbles, “Huh, Fuji.” Stefan was shocked and his face darkened thinking, his brother sold him. “What Jack, how could you do this?” Stefan was annoyed but couldn’t able to do anything.

“Tiffie, what are you doing here? I hear that you joined that fashion competition. How was it? The results came out today. Did you qualify?” She did not expect for Summer to hit the nail on its head. Tiffany bit her lips and replied, “I barely made it… But… there was a slight hiccup. If I tell you, you can’t get angry.” Summer was in a pretty good mood. She smiled as she munched on some fruit. “Go right ahead.”

Twisting the tap off, Hattie led Summer to Jake’s room. Upon entering, Summer saw that Jake and Mary had taken up position in front of his computer; Hattie sat on the double bed behind them feeling a sting of anticipation and Summer, who felt very much like a stranger stayed standing looking over Mary’s shoulder. The computer hummed and ticked as the search engine uploaded. Jake turned to face Summer, he had noticed she looked bad the night before, but now she looked worse, extremely pale, her green eyes had darkened, and her lips were a greyish colour, her clothes stained by blood and the great outdoors.
