The Summer J Turned Pretty Novels & Stories

A fireplace sat at the center of one of the neatly painted walls, for cozying up on chilly nights. The maid offered us seats while she went ahead to call Summer, Jeanette’s girlfriend. I can’t wait to meet her!!! Summer soon descended the stairs. She was tall and slender with short brown hair. Her eyes were as blue as the ocean which matched perfectly with her white skin. She was wearing a pair of light-colored jeans with a fitted t-shirt that complemented her figure. The t-shirt was tucked in at the front, completed with a pair of ankle boots. I watched as Jeanette ran into Summer’s arms, pulling her into a tight embrace. I stood there, watching the beautiful scene unfold.

Bethany's expression froze, the joy in her eyes vanishing as sheer panic took its place. The terror she felt was laid bare in front of Mitchell, and in that moment, it looked almost comical. Though it was the height of summer, Bethany felt a chill crawl over her skin, a chill that had nothing to do with the weather. She had already experienced the madness that Mitchell could descend into for Heather's sake, twice now, and the fear of reliving it a third time made her stomach turn.

Annoyance? One thing was clear. This summer just got a whole lot more complicated...

At that, John finally showed a flicker of reaction. Deborah turned back to him. “But we gave you a choice. You were already far luckier than we ever were. You do know who’s to blame for how things turned out, don’t you?” After saying that, she stood up. Her voice was cool, stripped of any warmth or mercy. “Summer committed suicide. Forget her. She’s finally free, and you should move on too.” At the word “suicide,” John’s stiff fingers suddenly trembled. He had not heard that word in a long time. Ever since we got married, my condition had seemed to improve. I became so normal that he had almost forgotten the deep scars on my wrists.

One step at a time. Today was Summer's spelling bee. Today she had to be a mother. She could fall apart later. She straightened, tucked the last stray curl behind her ear, and turned towards the door. Summer was waiting in the living room, dressed neatly in her school uniform, her hair in two neat braids Harper had done that morning. She was bouncing on her toes, clutching her spelling list like a talisman. "Mummy!" she cried the second Harper appeared. "Do I look pretty?"

Mom says flatly, shooting me a look over her shoulder. Josh smirks, reaching for the fridge. “Classic Ari.” I grip the counter, the chill of the laminate grounding me as I bite back a reply. My pulse still races, not from the mess, but from the way Gavin’s voice had cut through the morning air outside. He’s still out there — I know he is. And the weight of that makes the spreading puddle of mint chip on the floor feel like the smallest disaster of the day. Mom sighs, still crouched on the floor scrubbing at the green puddle. “Honestly, Ari, between you and your brother, I’m not sure which one of you is more work this summer.”

Timmy said. "Are you done here? If you are, then leave," I calmly said. Jessica's face became pale, then flushed red. "You can't get back at me like this just because I turned you down! Business is business, and you can't force love! I'm never going to throw myself at you just to get some investment funding! I hope you can tell the difference and just sign!" "Nice speech! Really nice!" I said as I clapped slowly. I honestly did not know just how shameless Jessica could be.

He doesn't need to prove that he is loyal when he is actually cheating. I need you to grow a bit faster and be here already. There's a woman who wants to take your father from us, little bean.
