TRAPPED IN HIS WEBS
The room was dark, the only light coming from the moon hitting the glass walls and the glow of a few computer monitors.
David was sitting behind his desk. He wasn't wearing his jacket. His sleeves were rolled up, and his tie was loose. He looked like he had been waiting for a long time.
"Lock the door, Leo," he said. His voice was low, heavy, and carried that dominant edge that made my knees feel weak.
I turned and clicked the lock. The sound was deafening in the quiet room. I walked toward him, my shoes clicking softly on the floor. I felt like I was walking into a trap, but I didn't want to run. I wanted to be caught.
