Instead— Cassandra laughed softly. A mocking sound. Aurora slowly turned toward her. Cassandra crossed her arms elegantly before speaking. “Who do you think you are?” Aurora’s expression hardened slightly. Cassandra stepped closer.

Part of me wanted to interrupt, to tell them exactly what I thought of their archaic traditions. But another part understood this was necessary.
