"So far, Amara's gotten away unscathed, like always!"
She rants, and she raves, going on and on about how nothing ever changes. Amara does something awful, something damaging enough to warrant a so-called disownment only to turn up days, weeks, months later on their doorstep with her tail tucked between her legs and big, sad eyes, looking like some sort of kicked puppy. And of course, their parents couldn't turn her away. No matter what they said or how heartless they liked to pretend to be, they would never abandon anyone - let alone one of their kids - in their time of need.
"Unfortunately, that's not the kind of people they are!"
