A Crown Cut with Salt

A Crown Cut with Salt

It always does. A courier sloop slid up on our starboard quarter around first light, white, handkerchief tidy, hull meaner than her paint. She raised a trumpet and a writ together, the way men do who believe sound and ink are twin weapons. "Ship Gilded Wraith," the trumpet announced, voice too pleased with its own posture. "By order of Conclave, the Crown, and House Morcant." "That's too many fathers for one sentence," Jas muttered. "You are commanded to heave to and receive inspection and arrest writs for persons named herein."

The Crown That Fell

The Crown That Fell

The car doors swung open in unison, and a stream of figures in black poured into the banquet hall. Beneath their jackets, the subtle outlines of guns hinted at danger, a chill of menace in the air. A bodyguard with utmost respect opened the door of the central stretch limo. William Vincent, the iron-fisted ruler of Northland's shadowy corners, clad in a sleek black trench coat, walked over the glittering carpet of broken glass towards me. He was the man behind the mysterious calls, my mentor in all things firearms, my ace in the hole. William dropped to one knee before me, indifferent to the shards of glass slicing through his pricey pants.

Crown & Creatures: The Awakening

Crown & Creatures: The Awakening

The driver clicks to open the door and moves a bit to the sides. Dark red heavy shoes with a sharp point in the front land out of the gate on the ground. A light brown surcoat over a golden and white tunic sways out with a tall and wide man. The golden crown shines brightly on his head. Light brown skin with a darker shade of brown beards is under the green eyes.

Apaurushya - The Continuum

Apaurushya - The Continuum

Any normal person would have turned to cinder. Regardless, her expression remained unchanged. She soared utterly unconcerned in the skies. Her skin and clothes were slathered in muck, ash, and grime. She had the commanding air of a holy angel, yet her appearance was more akin to that of a handcuffed prisoner. Meanwhile, a jewel crown that was one foot above her head sparkled magnificently with turquoise brilliance. The crescent moon's grace and glory were encapsulated in the base of the crown. The base of the crown was covered in every kind of gem conceivable, including diamond, pearl, ruby, quartz, platinum, and emerald.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The words landed heavily. Then the Third Crown pulsed. Truth. God. No. Fair. Absolutely not. Reasonable honestly. Then Ava immediately pointed. Then: "I hate him already." Then Henry adjusted his glasses. Then: "What's his Crown?" Valen's expression darkened. Then: "The Crown of Dominion." Silence. Then Thomas felt something. The First Crown reacted. Authority. The Fourth Crown reacted. Resolve. Then Valen nodded. Then: "The Crown of Dominion is a corrupted twin of your Crown of Authority."

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

The Crowned and The Rejected

The Crowned and The Rejected

I closed the door after me, getting ready to call whoever did this rubbish. I heard a robe fall to the ground and looked in its direction. There she stood, naked, and her face caked in heavy makeup. Anya Hades, my dead brother’s fiancée and my first love. “I’ve been waiting for you, daddy,” she whispered seductively, and my feet stood rooted to the floor. My eyes raked over her body hungrily, and the curves were still like I remembered when I used to fuck her in the same bed she was standing in front of. Different emotions gushed through me, and I tried to keep my head straight and not run straight into her attempt at seduction.

Path to Destiny Series

Path to Destiny Series

Aameris spoke almost in a whisper, but everyone in the room heard him. The three couples kissed, then turned to look at the crowd. Lindaat started to glow, and a crown appeared on her head. Twisted silver and bronze metals looking like a tree being held by silver roots. Around the crown, small diamonds rose, looking almost like trees. When she turned to look at Teleraamon, he had a circlet of the same silver and bronze on his head. Ailive gasped when a crown appeared on her head, with a solid silver band with sapphires around the edges that looked almost like tears. Dakkaath had a circlet of silver with a hint of bronze in it. Xylia smiled brightly at the two, then felt something on her head

The Lost Crown

The Lost Crown

They mourned him and continue to do so. Someone had to take over now that the King was gone, and the young Crown Prince is doing an excellent job of carrying on his father's legacy. When she sees him pass by, she can't help but steal a glimpse at him. If word gets out that she secretly admires the Prince, she'll most likely be beaten to death, but who can blame her? A Queen Among Tides

A Queen Among Tides

I’m about to stand up and protest when Eisa walks over carrying a purple velvet pillow with a crown resting on top that I’ve never seen before. Eisa steps up to my mother and slowly kneels down, raising the pillow to my mother. The crown she’s presenting is stunning, but definitely not one that’s been sitting in the family undersea vault. Large seashells point to the sky surrounded by smaller shells, all with a duo chrome shift that makes them shift from blue to purple to green in the light. The crown is decorated with blue, pink and purple sapphires, diamonds and opals creating a gorgeous prism effect when it catches the light.

Another amazing book! I feel as though each book is my favorite in this series and I love the representation. This particular author has an amazing way of challenging vernacular and using it to empower her characters. Her world building has you vested in the outcome of the story and characters.
Denae O'Connor
