I clicked my tongue and flipped through the book I was holding. I was about to close it when it stopped at a page where a lone white sheep was in the middle of a sea of hungry wolves. “When darkness meets light.”I read the caption and at first, it didn't make sense to me, until I noticed one wolf looking at the sheep in a strange way. She felt something odd going on within her, she couldn't explain it. It felt like something inside of her was looking for expression outside of her. She walked down to the living room and came out looking at the moon and she smiled, since she was little she loved the moon whenever it was full. I tilt my chin high, steeling my expression. I’ll escape this place and disappear into the city the first chance I get. Glenda says something to me, urging me to move. I follow, doing my best to memorize the layout of the townhouse. We descend to the first floor, and I come face to face with a wolf. The beast eyes me like I’m his next meal as Glenda ushers me out of the front foyer and into a sitting room.

His head was up, eyes wide open. The moment she turned, his head went back to the floor and his paws covered his eyes. “No one will ever believe this. A peeping wolf?” Definitely too bizarre for words. She pulled the dress over her head. “Go ahead,” she said. “You can look now.” The wolf sat up, mouth open in a big doggy grin while she slipped her feet into comfortable sandals and grabbed a soft shawl in case the weather turned cool. She wasn’t sure what got into her, but Anne went to her knees in front of the wolf so that she could look at him eye to eye. “I’m not sure what your game is, big guy, but I like you. I didn’t want to come on this trip with my sister and her friend. I think they
