I would have to wait to dig deeper into those documents when Cam wasn't lurking behind me, possibly catching every flicker of emotion across my face. Turning to face him, I managed a controlled tone. "So... show me where to start." "Well, since you're so damn clueless about this world, I'd start with the basics," he replied as he tossed a book at me. I looked down at the book and almost laughed. It was titled "Werewolf 101." "So, Werewolves for Dummies... got it," I said with a chuckle.

Without another word, King discarded his clothes beside me, transforming into his wolf form in a swift motion before racing off towards the source of the alarm. ~*~ Thanks for reading. I’m so sorry for taking so much time to post a chapter.

At whatever was written there that I couldn't read from the outside. "My name is Zane Ashford," he said. "And I've been looking for you for three years." The silver at my wrist flared. Your little pack sister just stood there… watched the whole thing and did not run away?" the she-wolf bit back. Her wolf was testing me. But I was bored already. I reached for a smoke. He thrashed, yelped once, went still. Humans, actual villagers, huddled in doorways and behind overturned carts. A woman clutched two children to her chest, her mouth open in a silent scream. An old man brandished a pitchfork like it might actually do something against claws and fangs. It didn’t. A passing wolf swatted him aside like a doll. He hit the ground hard and didn’t get up. My stomach lurched. This was my opening chapter. I’d written the raid. The atmosphere was soothing and encouraged someone to walk tirelessly. The sunrise casts soft yellow light as it breaks through the clouds, illuminating a calm and peaceful scene. It was a fresh winter morning. He cherished the tranquility and serenity of the forest as he inspected his territory's borders. ' I lamented. 'Oh!' I was surprised as I watched her move so fast after checking her phone, like the languid, sultry movements from earlier were merely an illusion. "Who is she hurrying for?' I was alerted when my wolf whimpered in distress and my heart felt empty when I realized she's walking away, walking away from us.. ----End of Chapter One----

“And don’t try to lie to me, I’ll confirm whatever you say from Chloe. And if you still choose not to tell me, I’m sure Chloe would be ready to spill everything.” I let out a frustrated sigh. Lying to him would make things only worse. Maybe I just needed to come clean. “Okay, but promise me you won’t get mad.” “I won’t get mad.” I didn’t trust that he wouldn’t get mad. I just knew that he only said it because he wanted me to open up to him. “Okay.” A defeated sigh escaped my lips. “I’m listening.” He stared at me intensely. I closed my eyes and blurted out the words. “I don’t have a wolf. I still haven’t discovered my wolf yet.”
