Chapter 128 Aurora I woke to silence. The space beside me was empty, the sheets cool where Liam should have been. For a moment, a strange hollowness settled in my chest before I pushed it away. I washed, braided my hair loosely, and pulled on a simple training dress. If I was going to learn control over my golden wolf, I needed to start early. Awakening my first wolf had nearly broken me—this one felt heavier, brighter, like holding fire in my bones.

He laughed to himself. There was a slight breeze in the meadow. She looked down and saw his chocolate colored fur. She snuggled into him but something was different. She looked and saw the auburn fur on her paws. She was a wolf! She closed her eyes and relaxed. She was where she belonged, and all was right with the world, for the moment.

Feared. But something deep within her stirred, ancient and electric. Change was coming. She didn't know when. Or how. But she felt it in her bones. And so did her wolf. ⸻ Hello everyone, Finally finally, we have our first chapter. Thank you for taking your time to join us as we begin the journey of this amazing book. I suggested, showing her the page. “No!” she shouted. I sighed. That was one of my favorites, because it told of the first beta, and I always thought of mine and Reid’s friendship. I flipped through the book some more until I ended up back at the very beginning. The first story, the story of our origins. “‘The First of the Wolves’?” I asked, peeking at her from the corner of my eye. Her eyes lit up, but then she forced a frown. However, it was too late. I had already seen her excitement.

She slowly looked at the giant wolf who was walking ahead and thought, 'He did not kill me. Perhaps he can help me.' She followed him unhurriedly. She wondered where those wolves were who tried to catch her. 'Did they run away in fear when they saw this wolf?' She thought. Her steps halted when the wolf turned around and looked at her. She gasped when he frowned with his red eyes. "I-I didn't want to follow you. Please don't kill me." The wolf did not growl or shift. He only stared at her. She lowered her head to look at her dress. She could see herself under the moonlight. She saw that the mud had gotten all over her white clothing, including her hands and legs.

She thought maybe she could see some things that could break the bond. She walked to the shelves and searched around for any books that involved werewolves. She picked up a book from the shelf. The book had a picture of a black wolf in front of the title. "Werewolves rule." She remembered that she had seen the book before. The book was for anyone who had just transformed for the first time. It was for the new wolves to know and follow certain rules. "Maybe it might have something to do with how to break it." She said , flipping the book. It was a book with a lot of tiny writing. She flipped it for some time, until she got bored. She was about to drop it when something caught her attention.

Then the wolf ran to help me, to help a slave. Who could the great wolf be? **** Short but important for story continuation. More chapters will be released tomorrow❤

The mist grew thicker, obscuring our vision and muffling our footsteps. "Stay close," I said, my eyes darting between the shadows. "And keep your weapons ready." --- We hadn’t gone far when the first creature appeared. It started as a low growl, so faint I almost dismissed it as the wind. But then it grew louder, closer, until it reverberated through my chest. “Do you hear that?” Sophie whispered, her bowstring taut. Before I could answer, something lunged out of the mist—a hulking mass of fur and teeth. It was a wolf, but twisted beyond recognition. Its eyes burned like molten gold, and its body was covered in patches of matted fur and oozing wounds.

" I walked away from the door, not bothering to reply. I have better things to worry about. I said to myself,. First of all, I had to complete this purging, get my wolf, and cure this curse forever, then I can truly find out the real story. Once I get my wolf, everything will be fine. And then I'll be able to solve this on my own. *** Day Fourteen ***
