Destiny 3

After two days walking, looking for the one who would be her new protector, Jade could only complain about the pain in her knees and feet, but she did not. Being reserved with her opinion was one of the many rules she had been taught from a very young age. Being polite, not responding, respecting others and keeping quiet about everything that is too much, so many rules engraved within her, that it would be difficult for her to get rid of them.

Still she wanted to shout to the thousand heavens for a little peace.

The first day of the trip had not been so difficult. Walk straight through the town closest to your old home. She was grateful that no one noticed her appearance that she had covered, in addition to the veil on his face covering the brand, with a large straw hat. But the night was not quiet. Not having any money, she had had to take refuge in the darkness of the night and there was no shortage of those who found her and had to run away to take refuge in another place. The outside world was too cruel to those people who barely knew it.

Result, without sleeping or eating, the second day had been hell. Even so, she couldn't stop or dying would be his destiny.

She asked a woman carrying a child for the first location of the letter that had been delivered to her. 3 kilometers. She had indicated that she still had two damn kilometers to go but at least there was already a light on the road. From the various written addresses, she assumed that he owned several properties, she just hoped with all her hopes that he was at least in this one, although looking closely at the new town where she had arrived, she was not very sure.

After advancing half the way, she heard screams behind him and turned, letting a group of three men pass, shouting words that froze his blood.

-They found it, the person with the tattoo- the screams were accompanied by various murmurs until they disappeared in the corner.

So far the news had spread.

She had to move faster, if she was caught she would face the same fate as the individual they mistook for her. Guilt assailed her but she didn't have time to dwell on that. She had enough problems already.

She rounded the corner several meters ahead to find a street that had nothing to do with what she had seen so far. The floor, instead of being dirt like the one she had walked, was covered with fine white gravel that kept it smooth and clean. The various houses were not visible due to the high walls of precious wood and where the interior could only be accessed through the decorated doors accompanied by various bushes and some sculptures of various deities. That must be some rich area of that place. She checked the paper again and remembered the woman's instructions and she couldn't be wrong, she was in the right place.

Three, four, she counted the doors to the eighth and stopped. Perhaps the door where she had stopped was painted black and with fewer ornaments than the others, that did not detract from the luxury of the carved wood with which it had been made. This Vladek man must have a lot of money if he had a property that was not the main one with those resources.

She swallowed hard and prayed before touching. She waited a few seconds without an answer. The nerves inside her intensified. What if he didn't want to help her? What if he didn't want to protect her? What if he just didn't recognize her as part of the family?

Of one thing she was sure, if until now she had lived as a man and presented herself as such, if she was welcomed, she could not let her know that she was a woman. She was sure that she would feel that he would feel betrayed and would throw her out on the street or worse, she could lose her mind. It was well known how lies were paid for in those turbulent times.

As her doubts lashed her, a small slit was opened and the face of a well-dressed young man without leaving his servant garments, was glimpsed.

-We don't want to buy anything- he said dryly, hiding his discomfort after an unsuccessful attempt at a friendly voice and then closed the compound.

-No, wait- Jade exclaimed, playing harder -I don't want to buy anything, I just want to see Vladek-

The hatch opened again.

-Mr. Vladek does not see anyone and less beggars or whores who come to ask for money-

-I don't want money- she began to despair, at least she already knew he lived there and if the servant was present that indicated that he was also in the house -Look, I have to give him this- she waved the paper in front of the man's face. The Siam family-

When mentioning the name of the family the man seemed to hesitate and grabbed the letter.

-Wait out here- he ordered.

-How long?- She asked without thinking. The very idea of being out there for another moment, out in the open and in danger terrified her.

"The necessary one" the servant closed the window with a thud and Jade stood there waiting long enough.

Izen walked down the hall to his master's room. It was close to seven in the evening and the sun was beginning to set. He stopped in front of the door and rapped lightly with his knuckle.

-My lord I have something important to report-

Izen knew that his lord was, at the moment, busy with other matters and was more than trained not to disturb him inopportunely, so when he did it was not for a trivial matter.

-Come in- he heard him say and entered with a slight bow before handing him the letter.

The man sat up on the bed with his tunic badly on that revealed more skin than necessary and his messy hair denoting the culmination of his carnal acts with his companion. A female body stirred naked beside him and he stroked her back to reassure her.

Izen handed him the paper in her hands, turning his face so as not to disturb the lady who shared the bed. Vladek read the crumpled letter carefully, then folded it up and tossed it aside without interest. He went back to bed with his back to the server returning to caresses with the stranger.

-My Sir? -He asked uncomfortably -What do I do with the visitor? –

-Whatever you want-

-Got it- Izen left the room and returned to the entrance where Jade was waiting impatiently.

Feeling the crack open she turned with hope in her eyes.

-Excuse me but Mr. Vladek does not want to be disturbed, go away-

-Wait- The window almost closed in her face and she felt the sound of the latch on the other side knowing she had been ignored.

-And my letter?, she said in a trembling voice and swallowing hard.

His last hope was gone. That supposed friend of the family did not want to help her.

She backed away until she stumbled and fell on her back. It hardly hurt her, there were more painful things on her mind. Taking a deep breath, she analyzed the situation and realized that she only had to take drastic measures, she may have been raised to be a doll in a glass urn, but she had taken advantage of her free time and nurtured her knowledge above the average. . So straightening up, she knelt on the ground.

If he did not accept it for good it would be by force of will.
