The people who were once untouchable of anything and everything in this existence would have never once thought of- Sadness? Never this Grave ! Betrayal? Never this formidable ! Trauma? Never this Excruciating ! Moribunding? Never this insurmountable ! What was it ? And how worse will it get that this?.......

“Are we safe?” I wanted to lie so badly. I couldn’t. “We’re careful,” I whispered. “That’s all we’ve got.” Someone out there had waited years for us to believe it was finally over. For us to lower our guard and dare to be happy. One phone call destroyed it all. We would never be free, we’d always be hunted. Because we survived and built something real. Because we refused to stay broken. And that cold, mechanical voice in the dead of night made one thing brutally clear: It was never over.

♥ It's sad to say, well even to think, but as it turned out the nightmare never ends, it just takes a break to then come back with renewed force and make our hearts race and our brains ache. He had even kept using the same code. So it doesn't seem like I'm nosey or like it means anything to me, I quickly added, “You know what they say, it makes getting over them easier.” Or maybe I never meant much to him as I thought. He didn't need to remove them to make it easier. He rested his head on the headrest, “Cause I didn't want to.” We held my gaze, “I never wanted to get over you, so I clung on to the things I knew you liked and kept us alive in my memory. To me, we never separated.”

The things I once thought I'd never get over eventually passed. The people I once thought I'd never forget slowly faded. That's life. There are regrets. Missed chances. Heartbreak. But there's also warmth. Healing. And new beginnings.

We lay there, tangled together, the silence thick with unspoken words. This wasn't over. It never would be. I wasn’t going to let go now! It would be in death!

All that remained was the memories. We've been through a lot. Fire. Bullet. Arguments. Betrayal. But love had the final say. Forever.
