This Was A Man Novels & Stories

---------------------------------------------- Flashback (One week ago)- --------------------------- In dimly lit room Anay slammed a photograph onto the wooden table. "Here is the photo," Anay said, his voice taut with impatience. The man across the table, a burly figure surrounded by a few henchmen, picked up the picture with a sneer. "We don't need a photo, Mr. Randhawa. We know him... he is Kabir Randhawa after all." Anay leaned closer, his eyes narrowing. "I'll give you fifty lakh. Just get rid of him. I can't stand him any longer."

Giving a slight nod nod the old man walked away leaving me to stand alone. Scanning through the men and women I noticed one in the far back fidgeting with his hands, a man. He looked very timid. From all the men he looked to be the odd one out by how fragile and small he looked. Just to look at him you could tell he would brake under pressure, spilling his guts to whoever. What was someone like him doing here?

Martin was there too, looking equally serious. "What's going on?" I asked, sitting down. Victoria slid a photograph across the table. It was a surveillance image—grainy, black and white, taken from a security camera. It showed a man walking through an airport, a baseball cap pulled low over his face. "Do you recognize him?" Victoria asked. I studied the photograph. There was something familiar about the way he moved, the set of his shoulders, the way he carried himself. "No," I said. "Who is he?"

Somewhere out there, that man was walking around smiling like a suburban dad who coached soccer. And I needed to know exactly who he was before he decided the next “one time” that would be my last time.

Interlude. Four days later. “I found a human,” A man said with his head held high above his shoulders. He stood facing the window that looked into the far city, its light pollution preventing him from seeing the stars. “A very strange smelling one.” He was a large man, at least seven feet tall with a broad muscular frame. He was clean-shaven with russet brown hair that grew past his ears, brushing the top of his shoulders. All in all, he looked like a man who’d seen much in life, and who’d done much as well. There was a scar running down his cheek, from his eye to his jaw like a tear track. He wore only a pair of pants, standing barefoot on the plush carpet of the office.

I have to go on a business trip for a week, so I get a cat-sitter to come over and feed my cat Muffin while I'm away. But on the second day, when I check the live footage from the living room surveillance camera, I see my fiancee, Kate Swanson's childhood friend Samuel Lambert enter the password for the front door and walk into the house. Then, he throws a grape into Muffin's bowl. Samuel Lambert raises an eyebrow in the direction of the surveillance camera. "Hey, Jonathan. Muffin is a smart one, isn't it? It's not touching the grape at all." Then, as I watch in horror, he unplugs the surveillance camera. I feel my heart sink, and I immediately ask the cat-sitter to head back over and ch

” I fretted as held my fist in pain. Then I heard the clinking of show as someone began to approach me, I waited to see who it was, even though for safety, I crawled to the innermost part of my tiny prison space. “You shouldn’t try to escape or run off when you just woke up,” the man said to me, he was wearing a white overall. Was he a scientist, or a doctor? I couldn’t tell. “Firstly, thank you for giving up yourself to be the test subject to empowering mankind,” the man said and I just looked around frantically, what did he mean?

The man said, bashful. Tanya also smiled, seeing as the man was acting cute. The man was dressed in a white top and white trousers. He had his hair on his forehead, and he looked kind of handsome. “Do you mind taking a picture with me?” the man asked.

She turned her phone to me. The photo was a grotesque representation of a huge man. A huge beer belly was hidden under a white tank top. His face was hidden, thank god. But something else was not. Looking down at the photo, I saw this despicable man standing in his gray boxer shorts. Which were hugging tightly around a massive bulge. It was surreal. The head threatened to poke out down against the inside of his thigh. And the obvious girth was as monstrous as the rest of the photo.

He ask me as he bow down a bit to show respect. “Yes. Thanks to Reign. Anyway I am not sure if you can find this man since there are no surveillance camera but I can give you a bit description about him. I am not sure if he is still here. Anyway he is a middle age man , half bald and Reign shoot at him . It did probably graze at his face so his face will be injured. That's all I can say.” I replied.
