Thirty Thousand Shortfall
Standing in the center of the room, I scanned the surroundings until a sound caught my attention: a light rustle and the friction of cloth coming from the closet.
I turned toward the aged wardrobe, approached it, and came to a halt.
Instead of opening it immediately, I leaned down and pressed my face against the thin crack in the door to look inside.
There, shrouded in shadows, a pair of panicked, wide eyes was fixed on me.
As our gazes locked, a smile spread across my face.
"Found you," I said.
A shriek erupted from the darkness of the wardrobe, and I swung the wrench, shattering the doors.
