You had ‘no choice’ but to make out with a married man? Please, this isn’t an idol drama.” James looked livid. One of his friends hurriedly tried to talk me down. “Come on. Wendy, you and James have been married for ages! Don’t you know what he’s like? He would never mess around under our noses.” I shot back, “Right, because he’s messing around in front of your noses. Are you gonna cover your friend when he cheats and raise his bastard kids?”

The first was your contract marriage with Jasper, the second was the six-month contract with me.” He tilted his head. “Who’s the third?” Luna turned to him, her eyes gleaming with mischief. Sebastian blinked. Then it clicked. The third marriage… was this one. And there was no expiration date. A slow, loving smile spread across his lips, followed by a chuckle. Charlotte tactfully answered. "I think we should go with three wedding dresses," said Martha. "No, I think we should go with four wedding dresses. This is after all going to be the biggest wedding. The two people who are getting married are not ordinary people but members of the two biggest families in the country. The wedding has to be up to standard," Victoria argued. "You're absolutely right Victoria," Martha agreed. Charlotte shook her head. It was her wedding but they were the ones making all the decisions for her.

The crowd began murmuring, but she paid them no concern, as she walked directly to the altar. She sood infront of Thomas, lifting the veil fron her face. "Boo. Hi, Thomas." Ashley? Thomas eyes widened in shock. Why was his ex at his wedding in a damn wedding dress? "Why are you here?" "Don't flatter yourself. I'm not here for you." Ashley turned around and looked at Maris. "Hi, Maris." Ashley turned from her, and her gaze rested on the priest. "These two cannot be joined in holy matrimony, because Maris had been married twice in the past, none of her marriages were ever legally divorced. Her husbands always died mysteriously."

I accept out of spite, drinking it while Lucien works on his laptop like I'm not there. Thirty minutes in, I break the silence. "How many couples will be there?" "Eight, including us." "Do they all have real marriages?" His fingers pause on the keyboard. "Define real." "Marriages that started without contracts." "Most marriages are contracts, Mara. Some are just more honest about it." "That's bleak." "That's reality." He returns to typing. "James and Victoria Worthington married to merge family fortunes. I said, hanging up without waiting for his response. Then I started sorting through the tangled web of interests from our three years of marriage. If I were leaving, he wouldn't get a dime. I was so focused that I didn't notice Antonio come home two hours early, cake in hand. Seeing me on the couch, he flashed a smile. "Honey, I know it's that time of the month. I’d stopped lecturing her after husband number three. Her life, her chaos. Now I just need a roof that does not leak and a bed that is all mine.

I just wanted to sleep. Over the past 3 years, we’ve gone from having a potentially broken mating with a messed up family and an unfaithful ex baby mummy to being in a loving, happy three way marriage, with three children, and another two on the way and the family I had always wanted- granted, I’d never imagined or considered I’d ever have two mates, but I wouldn’t wish it any other way.
