AVA’S POV After the grand walk-in of those men in tailored suits with their leader, Vincenzo, who had me on chokehold, not because of his handsomeness, but because of the aura emitting from him, everything changed. It screamed danger so much that ice slashed down my spine at any given chance. And his soulless eyes? It was everything I wasn’t. Cold. Calm. Domineering. Dark and menacing. THE ATLANTIC THRONE: TWO HOURS LATER We didn't land. We were pulled. The Thorne-17 was caught in a tractor-beam of pure gravity, dragging us toward the obsidian throne rising out of the waves. Around the structure, the ocean was boiling, steam rising in thick, violet clouds. As we hit the landing bay, the doors hissed open. A legion of Kingslayers stood waiting, but they weren't the white-obsidian drones of the Council. These were "Primal" Kingslayers—creatures of raw shadow and ancient gold, their armor forged from the very first mercury-veins of the earth.

“It’s a thief we need.” Tawny’s sweet voice comes over the monitor and moves closer to the screen, her yellow eyes pinned on Lyric. “Once upon a long time ago, many, many moons before now, The doorways to the realm of the gods were sealed by four powerful gods and goddesses. They created four stones, one per each god’s magic. These stones not only sealed the doorway, but they also became the key to reopening it. We recently discovered a book with an explanation, a doorway, and some other papers.” She casts Crimson a sideways glance and he shrinks in his seat. “And that’s what I stole? One of these four stones?” Lyric asks.

“She is the help. She’s the weapon!” The Throne Room Reborn Amara walked into the old throne chamber, now nothing but ruins and shadow. The crown glowed in her chest like a living sun. She lifted her hand — and the shattered stones began to move. Piece by piece, the throne rebuilt itself, this time from blackened bone and molten gold. Her voice filled the air. “There will be no gods. No kings. No crowns above mine.” She sat — and the fortress bowed. The guards dropped to one knee. Cassian, trembling, followed.

Real alarm. “Step away from it.” Liora froze at his tone. Then the throne called her name. Not aloud. Inside the chamber itself, in the mountain, and inside her. “Liora.” My body locked immediately. Because I heard it too. The voice carried through the cavern like breath moving beneath stone, ancient and impossibly powerful. The throne was alive. And it wanted her. Silver light exploded across the floor beneath Liora’s feet as the runes surrounding the throne ignited fully for the first time in centuries.

Bullets chased after my heels like a storm. I pulled the trigger without hesitation. The explosion swallowed half the desert. Fire erupted into the night as the shockwave hurled me through the air. I crashed into the sand, drowning in blood while flames flickered at the edges of my vision. Slowly, I reached up and tore the Heart of Protection necklace from my throat. Then I threw it into the fire. Before consciousness slipped away completely, I saw helicopters descending from the sky, each one marked with my family's crest. Through my fading vision, men in black suits poured from the cabins and dropped to one knee in the sand in perfect unison.
