Unable to sleep anymore, I moved towards my window. The moon shone through my window, its call was as loud as sirens and I answered. From my bed, I could see the trees outside glittering from the silver light from the moon but tonight, even though there was nothing particularly special going on there, I found myself drawn to the window. A strange excitement took hold of me, maybe it was the thrill of adventure, and the desire to explore and discover what lied beyond my walls. Immediately I moved toward it, I knew just why.

The event I had been eagerly looking forward to is slipping away from my grasp, snatched away by someone who was once my closest kin. With a surge of determination, I take a deep breath and steady myself. I refuse to be confined, both physically and metaphorically, by my sister's malice. Summoning all my strength, I step back from the door and survey my surroundings. The room is dimly lit, the air heavy with tension. My gaze lands on a cracked window, its jagged edges reflecting the shards of pain that I have gone through my whole life. Without hesitation, I make my way toward it.

Why add more? Stepping sideways to the window, I swing the lamp. And just like I thought, my hand goes through the glass with the lamp. Glass glitters as it falls to the ground below my window, but I can’t hear the sound over my own heartbeat freaking the fuck out. I step to the window and pull in a few lungfuls of clean, pure air. It’s with my head mostly out of the window that I hear the sounds of sirens coming towards the house and I know that help is on the way.

The chair, somehow, keeps growing. I walk to the window and press my palm flat to the glass. The view is unchanged. But it does not love me back.

Better I will try to accept this with all my heart. I noticed that there's a big window in the room so I got up and opened the door, a cool breeze made me smile I felt somewhat refreshed. I gazed at the big buildings and the busy road for some time. Then again I laid on the bed and slept without realizing to close the window.

I stumble backward, my body screaming in protest as I try to move, try to think, try to survive. There’s no time or space. Nowhere to run. The window. It’s the only option, the only chance. My heart pounds wildly as I turn, half-running, half-stumbling toward it, every step sending fresh waves of pain tearing through my body. I can feel him behind me. My hand slams against the glass and I don’t stop. I throw myself forward. The window shatters on impact. Glass explodes around me in a storm of jagged shards, slicing into my arms, my face, my skin as I crash through it.

Julia’s POV Reaching my room, I leaned against the door, exhaling sharply as I pressed my temples. I entered and sank onto my bed. And for a moment, I let myself breathe. But then, a faint tink sound came from the window as I paused, my head snapping toward the window. Another tink came again, sharper this time, like a pebble striking the glass window. My pulse quickened as I stood, curiosity overriding my exhaustion. I approached the window, the curtains swaying slightly in the night breeze as I peered out into the darkness outside to see who was throwing little bricks towards my window.

Venus's POV I wake up and look through the window. Another small pebble hits the glass of the window again and I jump a little before I walk over, to find Theo about to throw another pebble towards my window. It's still dark but Thank Heavens for the werewolf ability that I can see clearly.

I had no idea I could get this happy with having a proper bathroom. My eyes went to the drawn curtains, a window... I placed my feet on the ground and stood up. I half ran and half tripped to the curtain and flung them open. It was a glass window and behind it, I could see bricks. All the locks on the window were melted so that no one could pick them and if that wasn't enough, the brick was there to take all the hope away.

I can picture him crazed, tearing up the roads in his truck, racing into the city and quizzing a confused and frightened Mercy about my whereabouts. I've got to keep trying. My heart pounds as I stalk over to the last window, hidden behind a voluminous sheer curtain, the only one I haven't tried because it looks too small to climb out of. "C'mon," I whisper, willing the window to open. With trembling hands, I reach out and grasp the slim metal lock. To my shock, it pops open in my fingers. Relief shoots through me as the window slides over, and muggy air floods the room. Finally. I close my eyes and let my small victory sink in.
