“Alright, I give up,” she finally says after a few more seconds of trying to force the door open to no avail, turning back to face the girl who hasn’t yet moved a muscle from where she stood. “What do you want?”
“I need your help, Dr. Houston,” she replies. “You’re the best around here. Your numerous awards and book prove that.”
“Wait a second, what book?” Paige quirks an eyebrow, confused. “I just sent my final draft to my editor this week. How would you know what’s in it?”
