She thought she could shake me off with that. “Do you believe in it? I mean, time travel?” I asked. “I don’t know. Theoretically, as far as I know, it’s impossible—we’d have to be faster than light. But who knows what the truth is? And you?” She politely returned the question. “I haven’t thought about it,” I admitted.

Cristine exclaimed. “Can’t really help you. I don’t understand the science well, maybe you would. But when they warp space and time, it’s pretty much impossible to send you back. You died in your time period and only then could you be brought here. If we send you back, it’s going to do some weird stuff to the fabric of the universe.” Cristine scrunched her brow. “Oh, right. I… didn’t think about that.” Ellis smiled. “If you want to read about it, I can give you books on it!” she said. Cristine’s eyes lit up.

It was mostly science books, and I ran to them, opening the first one I could grab. Nothing. Then only something about the theory of relativity in the second. Then the third had an article. The writer of the article was in the top left corner of the page, and in it, he was talking about how he believes it is fully possible to bend time and pass through, letting yourself in through different horizons, at time either long past, or never experienced.
