“You are going to change out of that suit and into something normal. Maybe a shirt, a pair of jeans, sneakers, and a hat. Something that doesn’t scream wealthy man’s mistress under protective custody. Do you understand?”
“I cannot wear Mr. Damien’s—”
“Tim.” My voice sharpened just enough. “Go to Damien’s room, find something to change into. Now.”
He hesitated, then nodded stiffly. “Yes, Miss Rose.”
I watched him disappear down the hallway. A few minutes later, he reappeared wearing jeans that fit strangely, a simple black tee stretched across his chest, and a baseball cap pulled low. He still looked like a bodyguard, but at least a discreet one.
