He recognized those items as Jodi's. Seeing the glaring blood on the ground, he suddenly recalled that Jodi had left the banquet in a panic. Did she have a premonition at the time? He was filled with unease and quickly took out his phone to call Jodi. He called her more than ten times but couldn't get through. The synthetic female voice repeated over and over in the receiver: "The number you have dialed is currently unavailable..." Cade inexplicably panicked. Just as he was about to head home, Summer arrived in her gown, pouting.

The blood drained so fast from my head that the room tilted violently. It was a live, time-stamped photo from fifteen minutes ago. It showed my little sister walking across the wide stone courtyard of her university, her laptop bag slung over her shoulder, a smile on her face as she talked to a classmate. Framed right in the center of her chest was a subtle, faintly drawn red crosshair. Beneath the image was a short string of text: Steal the ledger back from Adrian’s safe by midnight, or the little bird falls.

None of my damn bloody business. "She's to be a cheerleader or something for a tough biker. We could get an alliance fixed with the pack. It's a great one, they major in petroleum and renewable energy." All this talk sounded like blah, blah in my ears. So I just kept nodding without a proper follow-up. At least I wasn't the one he was putting up for the alliance, so it was cool. "One more thing. She stays with you. Keep her safe. Very annoying you can't be mind-linked like every other child."

“I’m sure we’ll see you again soon.” “Oh, we have to show you our witchy lights!” “Oh, and our witchy garden!” “Little Lady Sprites? Lady Meadow is here too,” I say and receive the expected excitement and twittering before they race inside. “Well, that should keep them busy for a while,” I say, looking at Madelyn as she stares after them. “You were exactly right. Tinkerbell with a voice, no filter, and not a mean bone in their bodies.” “Yep. That’s a sprite in a nutshell. Come on, I want to show you the falls,” I say, taking her hand and leading her into the woods.

I said, kissing Kenzie’s head. Tara’s eyes snapped to Kenzie, and I could tell she was shocked and jealous. Tara had always tried to get in my bed even though I always denied her. She had a fake beauty about her because her mother was quite skilled with manipulation magic. In this case, it worked like plastic surgery. It was very fake and very noticeable if you cared to look through the glamour. “How impolite of me, this is Kenzie. Kenzie, this is Tara the daughter of Markov Angeloff of the New York Council,” I introduced her.

"This spell allows me to take on the appearance of anyone I choose, to become their exact likeness." I was at a loss for words, unable to comprehend what I was witnessing. The rest of my companions were equally stunned, their mouths agape as they stared at Celeste. Suddenly, Celeste's form began to shimmer and fade, and just as quickly as she had transformed, she was back to her normal self. She looked at us with a mischievous grin, clearly pleased with the reaction she had elicited from all of us. “Wow! You just turned yourself into Lovette’s dopple ganger” Ralph said amused

She crossed her arms. I didn't see a need to respond to that. "A mean and awful fairy by the name of Tinkerbell used magic to steal my wings." Tears filled Quilla's eyes. "I haven't been able to get them back." "Is that why you can't fly?" I asked, sitting on the edge of my bed. I figured that was the reason she was jumping around a few moments ago. Quilla let out a squeal, stomped around in another circle, and then stopped when she faced me. "I can fly just fine. Maybe not with my beautiful wings, but I have the capability nonetheless."

She recited Just like the spirit guardian she showered e with a gleam of light. Some of the tinkers fluttered around me, and I don’t know if my ears were deceiving me but I can hear soft giggling sounds coming from them. “It is now possible to hear the voices of my children, since you have received both blessings of the spirit guardian and I. I have hopes for you, do not let the past repeat,” the great tinker spoke. In seconds, from where she was standing she floated towards me reaching out her arms and holding me into her embrace, but the mirage slowly vanished the moment she touched my skin. She kissed my forehead exactly at the moment she completely disappeared.

“It’s too… I can’t.” “Yes, you can.” I slide the phone closer to her. She pushes the box back toward me. “No.” I heave a sigh. “Just take the damn phone, Tink.” Vienna cocks a brow, eyes twinkling in amusement. “Tink?” “Like Tinkerbell? The little green fairy from fucking Peter Pan or whatev…” “Another short joke,” she snorts, cutting me off. “How original.” I shrug, leaning my elbows on the bar as the smirk returns to my lips. “I thought it was a good one.”

''If you agree, to tell the truth, I will grant your every wish. I placed both my hands on my lap and took a deep breath, " I've been completely honest with you since the moment we met. I woke up in the forest with no memory of who I am or how I ended up in the forest to start, concerning my wounds, yes I was attacked by the Griffin but I managed to escape." Watching his every move Dante had let out a sigh, " I've known Miss Mannion for many years and trust her judgment, but don't misunderstand me princess I do believe your story but I would like to know if I can trust you. You say you don't know how you ended up in the forest but everyone who has ever step foot in that forest has never been
